Too bad the SD.net doesn't support rotating sig pics in general. That would be fucking awesome! 8)

Oh well.

Still... Middle Eastern Infantry? Eh? :wtf:

Actually, that's a screenshot from the Battle of Gaugemela in the Oliver Stone movie "Alexander" (that battle scene was brilliant, which unfortunately couldn't be said about the rest of the movie).

Ah, the good old days, when the Greeks managed stand-up victories in Mesopotamia which would make even the US Army's curbstomping of any effort by the Iraqis to stand up and fight like men look pathetic. The battle of Cunaxa in 401 BC is probably the height of this: Xenophon summarized the casualties for 13,000 - 14,000 Greeks victoriously charging head-on into 100,000 Persians as "one man wounded by an arrow and one man run over by a scythed chariot."

As amusing as that is, wasn't Xenophon prone to exaggeration?

It all depends if Xenophon was a Superior Commander (+6 Command) and the Persians were led by a drunkard really ... :P

One image updated (the old "God Bless America" picture never really worked that well IMO, so I replaced it with this one):

I love the look on Pat's face! Like someone's doing something inappropriate out of camera-shot!

PAT: "Oh, Lawrd, please bless this our daily bread... (Yeah, baby! Suck it!) ...and forgive us our tresspasses... (And boy, are they tresspasses... hee hee... yeah, just like that!)"

*shudder* the only thing that freaks me out more other than how ugly that guy is, is the fact that he sounds like a Battle Droid.

Added Robert Heinlein quote banner (yes, I know, it's unoriginal to make a banner out of a quote, but it's a good quote):
