I find it odd that you object to that line, since it's more or less taken straight from the comics.
Actually, I had a problem with that line too. Not so much the line itself, but his delivery. Maguire seemed to have some problems with the dialog when he was Spider-man and his one-liners seemed really corny.

I considered that line a deliberately campy tip of the hat to the comics, and I had no problem with it. "Deliver us from EEEEVIL", however, had no such excuse. And as much as I like Dafoe, he was REALLY over the top as the Green Goblin.

Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin was the villain equivalent of Jar Jar Binks.

It's the delivery I had problems with for Spider-man's and Green Goblin's lines. Some of them sounded really embarrassing. Kind of like some of Anakin's pickup lines in AOTC.

I'm surprised no-one nominated Stan Lee for his 1/10th second cameo...

Though if you read vintage Spider Man, Green Goblin 1 was pretty over the top as well. I almost didn't have a problem with Dafoe's Green Goblin for that reason, since the Green Goblin of yore was that much of a fruitcake.

It's funny, when I first read the list, I saw Swept Away. At first, I didn't realize it was the Madonna flick, which I heard very little about and mistook it for Spirited Away, the newest Miyazaki film. For one brief second, I went "Oh FUCK no! They are NOT going to FUCK with Miyazaki..." Then I realized what they were talking about and I was happy again. :)

Hey, man. That had a cool part in the movie. Don't mess with The Classic. Same with Ted Raimi and Bruce Campbell's bit parts.

I agree. Some of those acting scenes were awfully wooden even for my taste, and I've been a warsie for as long as I can remember....

I can see Hayden Christenson getting a worst actor nomination, and those pick up lines (which should have been justified in the film as being clumsy, "first love" lines, but they weren't) deserve a worst screenplay, but worst picture? They can't think of five movies that were worse than than AOTC? Nonsense. Pure nonsense.

I hated the love scenes too. But in myopinion the rest of the movie was great.
