A couple...

Post by Phantom5 »

Both of these are from the DS9 episode where Sisko and Co. were playing baseball against a crew of Vulcans.

Bashir (to O'Brien): What is that?
O'Brien: It's gum. Something old ball players use to use. I had the replicator make me some. You chew it.
Bashir (curious): You just chew it?
O'Brien: Oh, no...you infuse it with flavor.
Bashir. Ah. What flavor is that?
O'Brien: Scotch.

(After a Vulcan ran home, but didn't touch the plate...there's a pause, then they realize the Umpire Odo never called him safe)

Sisko: He must not have touched the plate!
Nog (the catcher): What do I do?
Worf (from the outfield): Find him and kill him!

Odo: Tell me, do they still sing songs of the Great Tribble Hunt? (to Worf, after he describes how the Klingons sent a fleet of battle cruisers to sterilize the tribble home planet.)

Torres: Take the cheese to sickbay! ("Learning Curve", Neelix's cooking is so bad it made the ship sick)

Garak: Doctor Bashir, there may be hope for you yet! (many times)

O'Brien: Remember me, from the Enterprise?
Q: Ah. Weren't you one of the little people?

The Doctor: Congratulations, Captain. You are human again. (don't ask)

My favourite line from "The Cage"/"The Menagerie (2)":

"Nice place you have here, Mr. Pike."

Oil an emergency?! It's about time, Brigadier, that the leaders of this planet of yours realised that to remain dependent upon a mineral slime simply doesn't make sense.

"Random chance seems to have operated in our favor"

"In plain, non-Vulcan English, we've been lucky"

"I believe I said that, Doctor"

Ah, the entire TOS is loaded with gold.. they just don't make it that way anymore.

"The Immunity Syndrome" (aka giant space amoeba ;) )

Regarding the loss of USS Intrepid, the all-vulcan starship:

Kirk: "What was it you felt?"
Spock: "A touch of...death"
Kirk: "And what do you think they felt?"
Spock: "Astonishment..."

and during the debate on who should be the one to fly the shuttle into the insides of the beastie:

Spock: "You have a martyr complex Doctor. I submit it disqualifies you." :)

and while escaping, trying to pull Spock's disabled shuttle with them:

Spock: "Captain. I reccommend you abandon the attempt. Do not risk the ship further on my behalf"
McCoy: "Shut up Spock! We're rescuing you!!"
Spock "Why, thank you, CAPTAIN McCoy" * complete with raised eyebrow :D
"Of course, what would really happen is that in Game 7, with the Red Sox winning 20-0 in the 9th inning, with two outs and two strikes on the last Cubs batter, a previously unseen meteor would strike the earth, instantly and forever wiping out all life on the planet, and forever denying the Red Sox a World Series victory..."

"Bones, Spock. If you're viewing this, we will assume that I am dead, and the tactical situation is critical, and both of you are locked in mortal combat. It means, Spock, that you have control of the ship and are making the most difficult decisions of your career. All I can offer is this: use every scrap of logic and intuition you have, but temper your judgement with wisdom and human insight. I believe you have those qualities in you. But if can't find them in yourself, then seek out McCoy. Ask his advice, and if you find it sound, take it.

"Bones, you've heard what I've just told Spock. Help him as much as you can, but remember that he is the captain. His decisions must be obeyed. You will find that he is capable of human intuition and human error. They can be most difficult to defend. But you will also find that he is deserving of the same loyalty each of you has given me.

"Take care."

Kirk's last taped orders ("The Tholian Web").

And now, one of the many moments of pure gold from Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan:

KIRK: We have a problem. A "situation" has developed on Regula I. As we're the only ship in the quadrant, Starfleet has asked us to investigate. Tell me, these cadets of yours, how will they respond to a crisis?

SPOCK: As with all living things, each according to their gifts. Of course, the ship is yours.

KIRK: No, that won't be necessary.

SPOCK: As a teacher, on a training mission, I am content to comand the Enterprise. But if we are to go on an actual mission, then logically the senior officer must assume command.

KIRK: It may be nothing. Just static and nothing more. Just get us to Regula I

SPOCK: Jim, you proceed from a false premise. I am a Vulcan. I have no ego to bruise.

KIRK: You're about to tell me that logic alone dictates your actions?

SPOCK: I would not presume to tell you that which you already know so well. If I may be so bold, it was a mistake for you to accept promotion. Command of a starship is your first, best destiny. Anything else is a waste of materiel.

KIRK: I would not presume to debate you.

SPOCK: That is wise. In any event, logic clearly dictates that the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.

KIRK: Or the one.

SPOCK: (standing) You are my commanding officer. You are also my friend. I have been and ever shall be yours.

How the hell were they the only ships in the quadrant? Was that a typo? Even though I distinctly remember hearing it myself? Maybe the quadrant is a slightly larger area of spacethan a sector, and maybe its a 4 sided shape...which suddenly makes Voyager extremely slow...

The term "quadrant" was used in that time as a synonym for "sector" based upon its measurement. In any case, you've rather missed the point of the passage with that little nitpick.

Not so much a quotte but more of a scene.

I think it was The Voyage Home

Scottie sits down in fron of an old Apple Mac

Scottie "Computer"

McCoy hands him a mouse

Scottie (speaking into the mouse) " Hello Computer"

made me nearly wet my pants at the time

The other one that makes me laugh is Q vs Sisko

Q has just teleported Sisko into a boxing ring

Q "Hit me"

Sisko gives Q a jab to the jaw

Q "you hit me? Jean Luc wouldn't have hit me"

Sisko "I'm NOT Picard"

Ghost Rider wrote:ST VI:

Shatner HATED that line and fought it all the way saying that Kirk being the man that he was would NEVER say that line. I would tend to agree with him but the line made Kirk more human as well because here we have a man that just met a son he never had and within a few months the Klingons kill him in an arbitrary fashion. How could he NOT hate them deep down? One of my favorite Kirk lines despite Shatner's reasonable protests against it.

I don't remember this one word for word, but it has stuck out in my mind as being funny ever since I saw it.

ST IV

They bust Chekov out of the hospital. Kirk, wanting to check if he's all right, demands he state his name, rank, and number.

Chekov(still woozy and not fully awake): Pavel...Chekov...rank (big, goofy smile) Admiral!
"I want to mow down a bunch of motherfuckers with absurdly large weapons and relative impunity - preferably in and around a skyscraper. Then I want to fight a grim battle against the unlikely duo of the Terminator and Robocop. The last level should involve (but not be limited to) multiple robo-Hitlers and a gorillasaurus rex."--Uraniun235 on his ideal FPS game

Another gem from TWOK:

KHAN: "Allow me to introduce you to Ceti Alpha V's only remaining native lifeform.

"Fascinating, no? They killed twenty of my people. Including my beloved wife. Oh, not all at once. And not swiftly.

"The young enter through the ear, and wrap themselves around the cerebral cortex. This has the effect of rendering the victim extremely susceptible to... suggestion. As they grow, follows madness, and death.

"These are pets, of course. Not quite domesticated."
