A Prometheus refitted w/ transphasic torps, ablative armor generators, QS drive, Defiant-style PPCs mounted in pop-out rotary turrets and omega particle reactors would be much more durable, manuverable, fast, powerful, and better in any other way except for crew compliment.Solauren wrote:Give me a refitted (to my specs) Galaxy Class starship (first spec: Sovereign Class power core and 4 Defiant cores on backup) and I'll be a happy camper...

Take this one step further: put it in orbit, and run a hotel/brothel. And all the porno films that could be made there...Sharp-kun wrote:Galaxy class, converted with multiple brothels, and holodecks. I can live out my sick fantasies, whether they be practical or not.

Personally, while the thought of commanding a big starship is appealing, I don't think it'd be all that good in the long-run... they do unfortunately require some degree of maintenance, and while the main computer might be able to help me learn how to fix things, there might be things on board a starship that are impractical or impossible for one man alone to deal with.
I would probably want something smaller along the lines of a runabout... big enough for getting around space and what-not, but small enough that I might be able to maintain it on my own.

I think the Dominion ships are amongst the best looking ships in trek, so I'll take one of those big things we saw around Cardassia in one of the last episodes of DS9. Fortunately this thing isn't as cramped as those Feddie ships. Of course I'll take some attack ships with it as well, but leave some hangar space for other ships I might want to have later.
I'll keep the warp drive but add one of those Sikarian space-folding devices which Tuvok traded for a part of Voyager's database (VGR, Prime Factors), but was incompatible with Feddie tech. I'll use these for personal transporting as well, but will keep the Dominion transporters too.
As for shields, I'll have Krenim temporal shielding (VGR, Year of Hell). At the moment I'm not really interested in new main weapons, but if I come across something nice I'll take it. As extra I'll design shielded trilithium torpedos to destroy stars based on what the Bashir founder planned to do to Bajor (DS9, By Inferno's Light).
The crew would be consiting mainly of non-adicted Jem'Hadar, Breen (with a redesigned helmet that is), some Romulans and a few Vorta that I'll make adicted to white so I can keep those pesky backstabbing schemers under control. They normally won't control the Jem'Hadar but will be scientists and engineers instead (like a lot of the Romulans). All personel will also have implants that allow them to connect to the main (semi-intelligent) computer and communicate with eachother.
For personelweapons the Jem'Hadar pistols are ok, but I would replace the Jem'Hadar rifles that seem to be weaker then the pistol and aren't even good-looking with something else. Why not take Breen CRM-114's until they design something that's more practical. As for the anti-intruder systems, apparantly Dominion ships already have the ability to use nerve-gas against personel (DS9, Tacking Into the Wind), and of course I'll make more efficient use of transporters in such situations and will make forcefields also shield walls/floors/ceilings/hatches to crawlspaces when used to contain something.
Holodecks are only used if people feel the need to do physical excersises, for the rest we will make use of VR, thanks to the Vorta, which requires only a minium of space and energy, there is absolutely no risk of self-inflicted injury and there is no direct need for pesky safety-protocols ruining all the fun.
I think that will be enough for now...
