Cool devices is horribly tame.
The most disturbing thing I have seen was a doujinshou named GAPE. It scared the crap out of me. I don't like to think about it because it was just horribly disgusting, and had an unfollowable storyline to boot.

What is the definition of Twisted that is being used here? I mean, I'm sure that Drakan society beats every example so far elucidated upon, but the books don't go into many of the really juicy details. The Kommanz rape their own children (at least on the level of the tribal grouping anyway), leading to a totally neurotic society without any family ties. But, again, that isn't explicitly detailed.

You get more details in Charnas' Holdfast series, but I'm not quite sure that even the most severely dystopic cultures of her books match up to some of the examples provided; or perhaps even to the Kommanz, who might have managed to make Nietzsche blush.
