Jules, trust me, I've been around alot longer than you have and I seriously doubt they're being hostile when they ask who you are. Simply curious.
Ace Pace wrote: Who was the bloody idiot who got annoyed? I mean, bad day and all that but its a open chat.
It was Tit. I wouldn't say he was "annoyed that a board member they hadn't invited was there", so much as that he was just being himself.

Just curious Olrik, when's the last time you were there?

In your world perhaps, but here in reality it was done in an effort to keep people like AssassinX from coming into the chat to irritate us. Now that the thread is only viewable by logged in members there is no need for the edits I made.
I liked how you assumed I would edit a supermod's post without saying anything to her, btw.
Frank Hipper wrote:Is this going on in the AIM chatroom I set up a long, long time ago?

No. The room we're talking about was started by AnimeJet.

Did you just see tycho fill 3 pages of text with AOL Mammonth sex? If not you have no idea how horrible AOL speak can be.
It was me and Chardok having Hot man-sex in 1337. Ein was getting drunk. Very exciting night.

Stranger still when we ASKED SAID SUPERMOD, she said she made no such change. Thus you asked and she didn't remember, and got too fucking antsy and leapt up abusing your miniscule power.
Perhaps you should've asked again, and let her do her own change.

Could you rephrase that a bit? It seems kinda jumbled. Maybe explain your understanding of the chain of events in a more detailed, timeline form.

We asked the supermod, she claims no change was made. You asked, you didn't get a response or didn't get the response you wanted, and you acted outside of the scope of your power.
Perhaps you could start trying to justify your actions, because really, right now it looks like you need humbled very publically.
I do apologize to my sister-in-law; but sometimes one must deal with the laundry where it lays.

Yes, but as I said, they didn't ask *me*, they said in the main room, "Does anyone know this person?" and "Who is theDixen?" as if I had no right to be there. You want to know who someone is, and suspect they've just wandered in off the street (so to speak), ask *them* who they are, and maybe even explain what SDNet is about.
And, maybe I'm old fashioned, but I was always taught that you begin a conversation with hello and a smile. A little manners goes a long way, as have learned those who have begun a conversation with me politely before we degenerated into sex and insults
And Nit, darlin', you're forgiven. It's easier to forgive you than it is to avoid my bestest friend in the whole world <*veg*>

Oftentimes, there's sex and insults going on in the chat when someone pops in, and they'll get stuff going on like this
fimagal2001 has joined the room.
Einhander Sn0m4n (9:55:19 PM): and el, if you curse out this n00b, I will remove your gray matter with a Railgun Slug, capisce?
but worse, so don't take it too personally if you pop in, and someone mentions donkey porn.

That will make you friends fast. One friendly bit of advice: NEVER click on a link someone posts until at least two people have responded to it. It will save you a world of headaches.

Fine dipshit. I'll put in large bolded letters so your stunted brain does not have to interpret shit.
And look in timeline format
- GHOST RIDER SAW A CHANGE IN ZAIA'S POST ON WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 14
- GHOST RIDER THEN ASKED ZAIA ABOUT SAID CHANGE ON WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 14
- ZAIA SAID SHE DID NO SUCH CHANGE ON WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 14
- KEEVAN_COLTON RESTORED ZAIA'S POST ON WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 14
That clear enough for you, bitch?

In my case, I do tend to ask "who is X...". I don't intend it to be rude, but I know I'm not in often, so I do miss people, and if the person's not paying attention, the chat can scroll the question off the page, so by keeping it as a general question to the room, I find I'm more likely to get a response. If I offended, I apologize for the unintended offense.

Mighty kind of you guys to let me know that I had X amount of time to respond or bad things would happen.
Be it known that this is due to the user's abuse of power, in deleting and changing information in a supermod's post without consent (December 14th, 2005).
Well, I admit that I did change it without talking to her about it first (not sure why I decided to do it that way now), but I did send a PM to her telling her what I did and why. Her response certainly didn't indicate any disagreement with my actions. Maybe she just forgot about that part.
This is also due to the user's refusal to admit wrongdoing when confronted by another supermod to justify the user's actions, both presently (January 10th, 2006) and when the original offense took place (December 14th, 2005).
Actually I did that on August 29. I suppose she forgot about that too.
So, which supermod confronted me to justify my actions on December 14 2005? I don't remember that happening.

Abuse of power and getting smart with the moderating staff has never been suffered lightly around here, Xalev. You're not so insensate as to not understand that, are you?
As to what you remember of events, by virtue of proven track records, I'm gonna have to beleive the supermod over you. Particularly since you've been nothing but confrontational instead of apologizing for your actions which, yanno, could have saved you some.

What "proven track records" would you be referring to?

Which parts are confrontational? The only part that seemed confrontational to me would be when I responded to Keev's assertion that I made the edit to make it "invitation via certain people only", after I had already explained my reasons to him.

Zaia's. The one that's shown she's reliable enough and dependable enough to be a supermod.

Your response to Ghost was quite smarmy. Have you perhaps been paying enough attention to see what happens when people try that stuff? It's typically worse than 'Lose a priveledge'.

To the OP:
Don't be offended when we ask that, its just us wondering who you are, we're not trying to make you feel unwelcome or anything. Heck, sometimes I have to ask returnees their SDN screenames because I always forget who is who, especially people who don't pop in too often. The chat is actually a nice place, behind all the insane weirdness and occasionally rants we make.
Also, only 3 pages of mammoth sex? For shame.
EDIT: And yes, I admit to spamming up the chat occasionally with random shit. Its my way of coping with the crushing boredom of work.
