I thought it would be something along those lines but more that I liked the fact that it's existence is explained nicely to shoo away some that I've seen use it as a point of sophistication.

"Transparisteel viewports equipped with magnification scanners that provide close-up views of deep-space battles"

A cool technology, and it fits with the fancy-pants cockpits from EU books and video games.

Find number 10 on the map, and go straight up. You'll find a caption reading "Veers finally fires fatal blasts at Rebels' power generator" and it's pointing to a spot less than five miles from the generator.
This is either a mislabeling, or he was closer than we had hypothesized.

Either mislabeling, or AT-ATs are capable of 30000+ km/h spurts.

It's quite dead. the generators are clerly labeled in the diagram, they are in the main hexagon, not the globes. They are the two big things there, see them?

Nah, the globes are clearly labeled. The brige would of course have its own generator. The text says its a module, almost a ship in itself.

No, you'd be amazed. Since the shield generators aren't explicitly labeled as such (instead just "main bridge generator") and the fact that the hyperwave coils and sensors are inside what appears to be a further cutaway of the mechanisms shown in The Essential Guide to Weapons and Technology, I actually had someone believe and claim that the shield generators were still in the dome, and Saxton just added sensors and communications.

Gungans used an organic technology. In any case, those generators were only for shields. The Generators on the tower power all the functions of the bridge.
