Yeah, I like that.
Basically, I'd have these 3 fixed sectors (Terminus / The Hub / Ascension), and then 10 "colony" sectors I could swap around the map more or less freely, depending on the circumstances.
"Gypsy sectors" should take significant time and effort (and lost income, opportunity cost) for you to move, but I don't mind you moving them.
So $21,000 GDP from the permanent sectors, $20,000 GDP from the "Gypsy Sectors" and $18,000 GDP from my (outbound) commercial relations. Total : $59,000 GDP. We'll add later the GDP coming from Inbound trade routes...
Question : can I have more than one "trade route" with a single player, to simulate the presence of multiple "gypsy sectors" inside their territories (like in case of war they take refuge in allied territories, and the increased activity has positive fallout on the local economy) ?
I would prefer to avoid that. The map is going to be large enough, and there will be enough nations, that you should be able to find places to put everyone.
We'll discuss it again during the map drawing-up phase, okay?

Just FYI for the new guys, the Centrality is a mostly-human, neo-fascist, ESPer (i.e, psyker)-dominated state, so that you are aware of what are you dealing with. However, anti-alien sentiment is surprisingly low, so don't worry yourselves if you happen to be near my nation.

I would like to join in on this event as well. I am thinking my schedule should allow for much better working conditions and a new nation should help me get over some of the writers block I was having with the Emissaries.
My preliminary idea is one from the failed STGOD 2k-whatever; The Chi-Sqee-Squeek. Space rats! Eternal nemesis of the brutal Chamarran despots (please don't eat us!). Cowardly, conniving and sneaking. Mostly cowardly.
I would like to try for a very expansive nation with a large number of trade partners.
I'll have some more when I get back from class.

Depending on how things pan out, I might be interested in being one of those trade partners. As rats, you should like Hellene grains, olives, oils, and wine, yes? Or possibly battlemechs in the shape of rats twice the size of an Chamarran soldier, to counteract your - vertically-challenged nature, shall we say, O honored customer?

hmm. I don't think the Screworlders will like you very much, Hellion, if you somehow blow up the Chammarrans before the Screworlders can ask them about their creators. I'm going to talk to Darkevilme about setting up a potential shared storyline - the way the "new" Chammarrans were pursued by unknowns in his prologue sounds awfully similar to my ideas of what the Authoritarians were like.
Needless to say, the Chammarrans and the Screworlders might end up having a shared history if it goes through.

How many NCPs do the micronations get? Do we just choose for ourselves?

It depends. A planet-state should probably have around 1 NCP, or effectively less (imagine the economic standing of the planet, match it to a sector description, and divide by five to get GDP). An interstellar polity would have, oh, anywhere from 2 to 5 NCP, with 5 being the upper bound.
Will that give you what you need?

I want a small interstellar state with one major world and small colonies/bases in two other systems. I'd also like a trade route. So three NCPs.
Is that acceptable?

Blow up!? You seem to misunderstand. The Sqee follow the Brave Sir Robin school of thought. When danger rears its ugly head we bravely turn our tails and fled. Our conquest plans will be far more insidious or at least involve a lot more lurking about in garbage than direct military conflict.
As for trading we would be interested in such products Esquire and will trade you many valuable colored baubles, trinkets and the most finely chewed sculptures in the galaxy. As for the battlemice, only if you can mount the majority of the weapons rear facing so they can be used while retreating.

Uh, all right- although why don't you hold off on the trade route for a while? The position of micronations on the board is very much up in the air, and it's more logical for extensive commerce to be made with a
neighbor, or at least someone who's on the same side of the map.

Unless the Hellenes are even more INFERIOR than currently believed, they are quite capable of building giant battlemechs that crap land mines. How does that sound?

You know what, Simon? These Chartmapographer Oarsmen you keep referencing need to come visit sometime. We can have a John Henry-esque competition where one of them kills himself beating a battlemech at discus-throwing.
Glad you like the mechs, Dark Hellion.

So, what have the Chamarrans been doing in the forty-eight years since they arrived and conquered the Makay?

I wonder if there are any German-speaking nations in this game. I kind of want them to be the first humans to make contact with the Empire for the sole reason of getting to name a major industrial power Panzer Industries that produces a sports car named the Sharkcat. I try to do that for all my fictional universes.

Consolidating while destroying rebels and freedom fighters and Vander raiders. building the Hierarchy. They know that they can't rely on the Perseus faction for help so they must have a solid base in known space to enact the conquest of the rest of humanity. Plus they've now had a generation of humans born into the Hierarchy, having a generation accustomed to this as the way things are rather stabilizes productivity.
Some would speculate that perhaps part of the reason they've been doing this for as long as 48 years is that a certain degree of feline complacency has set in, that there might be a notion that while some is not all it is enough.
We'll get to you eventually though, mwahaha nyah.

Correction/precision about the Stellar Nation :
The exact number of Stellars and their individual races is a bit difficult to establish, as there is no real central authority keeping an up-to-date census of the population, but it is estimated that there is between 550 and 625 billion Stellars scattered around the known galaxy.
Roughly 40% (give or take a few percents) of all Stellars are Terra-descendant humans (humans whose DNA can be traced back to Terra) or descended species (trans-, post-, whatever species that descend from baseline mankind one way or another). This still place them, demographically, as the most important racial group in the Community, which count hundreds of species from the whole Known Universe (EDIT : Known Galaxy) and beyond.
Of note, the Community host a notable number of Capellans, who have been attracted by its nomadic lifestyle and vibrant culture.
[contact me if you think your species might have some of its members converted to the Doxa. Logically, those with trade-routes with the Stellar Nation are most likely to have some of their people being members of the Community]
Body modifications such as bio-genetic or mechanical enhancements are seen as a part of life by the Community, whose lifestyle is entirely dependent on the continued operation of their century-old vessels. It is interesting to note the relation entertained by the Life-Worshiping Community and its Artificial Intelligences, which are often given the occasion to use bio-interface, in order to allow them to be closer to the Flame.
If mind-upload is known and sometime practised by members of the Community, it is culturally regarded as being personally undesirable, as all Believers should aspire for their essence to come back to the Flame when their hour has come. It is however mandatory in the Nation's armed forces, as it is obvious no one is meant to die for such sterile endeavour as warfare.
