I would so want to direct an Ender's Game movie; Card would write the script. Nothing more.

He is writing the script.

Right, that's how I would do it. He would be barred from doing ANYTHING else, though. I don't want to talk to him.

Unfortunately, THAT is not true. He's been to Califorinia several times lately.

Matthew Stover, George Orwell (too bad he's ), Tom Clancy, or Saxton.

You know, David Weber's name literally popped out of my mouth as soon as I saw the thread title.

Hell no. He's turned into a hack. the first few novels were good but the quality has gone down, way down. Red Rabbit was unreable, pure flag waving jingoism. I don't want to see that in the Star Wars universe. Not Ever.

Another man who recognizes quality when he sees it.

I think it would be interesting to see Vernor Vinge's take on the franchise.

How about Robert Frezza. Or Chris Bunch.

And here we have another asshole writer.

Clancy would turn the whole book into one big military assault where he'd have to explain every little detail, which he couldn't because he knows nothing about the SW universe, I'm sure. Clancy is too wordy.

You know who I'd want to write a book?

Robert Howard. Just to see it done. :D

I'd have to go with Asimov. Maybe this man could fix Star Trek if he was still alive. If no one could do it, he could!!!!!!!!

Bah. Great concepts, but dry storytelling.

Chuck Sonnenburg.

Probably the best fanfic author I've read. His Worlds Without End saga is probably the best piece of versus fiction ever. He has an excellent grasp of the characters and knows how to write. I think he'd make a great Star Wars author.

Hell yeah. Chuck's the man. Plus, he does know how to "crack open a cold one"...

I still think the circumstances under which that came out are some of the oddest imaginable for what he posted.Anyway instead of just writing a SW novel I think Chuck ought to publish a book title "The Gospel According to Chuck" just for kicks, and our amusement.

You know just as well as I do that, while amusing, the act of doing so would rupture the printing industry together with all religious institutions, while its potent irreverence would spark a Jihad that would destroy the world.

On the plus side, I keep seeing the cover before my eyes. "The Gospel According to Chuck". Oh damn, screw the world, I want one!

Who's to say he couldn't do both? Star Wars and the Crusade/Jihad inspiring tome.

And what's this "crack open a cold one" business? Sounds like there is a rather interesting story behind that one.

My server seems to be acting up lately; not giving me all the posts, and it
looks like it might not be sending them out, so I'm just trying this out.
So you can ignore this.

Ah, so you're not ignoring this. Shame shame. Now is your last chance; if
you do not leave now I will say the most disgusting thing I can think of.

Okay, it cannot be said that I do not warn. Very well. I think the
investment in the future should be a chain of brothels specializing in
necrophilia (that's sex with the dead, if you don't know). The reason being
that it's far easier than having to dig them up yourself, so you'll get
almost 100% of the market. Also, you don't have to pay the employees,
although you do have to empty them out now and then, which is probably gross
I'll be the first to admit. Anyway, I believe it is the market of the
twenty-first century. I even have a slogan: "Crack open a cold one."

Don't you wish you would have just not read this?

My God, only Chuck could come up with some so hilariously disturbing. (or is it disturbingly hilarious?)
