Getting back to the original topic I'm thinking of skipping Rebel Dream, Rebel Stand, Traitor, and Destiny's Way so I can go straight to Remnant.

I really don't want to read books that revolve around Jacen as I would like to see him drop dead. Anakin is my favorite character....and I hear there's a lot of Anakin references in Remnant. I've also pretty much decided if they don't bring him back by the end of the NJO I'm done with star wars. This time it will be permanent.

I just read the second book. Gavin Darklighters the boss of Rogue Squadron? Whiskey Tango Foxtrot? i thought Vector Prime was bad but it got worse. The only highlight was Corran Horn nearly dying.

I borrowed that from the Library and am currently in the process of pointing out everything he did wrong. Yes, I know it'll take a long time.

Considering the sheer amount of time Gavin's been with squadron that's not hard to buy at all. Unless, it's one of those "Nothing can change!" issues some people have with the NJO.

No it's more of the fact i never thought Gavin was that great a pilot, he was about middle of the line in the squadron. other things thats pissed me off was how predictible the story was. I could see every twist and turn comming.

I'll give you that. Though you have to consider the fact that average for a Rogue is like saying "average Top Gun graduate". Not to mention he's there in part because he seems to be the kind of guy that everyone likes, respects, and are willing to follow. That's as important as lots of kills.

I had the same problem with that.

If you do that you will be skipping 3 of the best books in the whole series. Revel Dream,Rebel Stand and Traitor rocked big time and i recommend you read them.Destinys Way was allso very good but in that its either you love it or dont consider it as so good but the three earlier ones are friggin excellent.

Rebel Dream and Rebel stanf haven't got anything to do with Jacen, although Traitor will make alot of things clearer about Nom Anor and the Vongs new home world (cant remember its name).

ok, so Rebel Dream and Rebel Stand are not about Jacen primarily then. I'll read them in that case.

But I'm still under the impression that Traitor and Destiny's Way are about him. If that's true I'll be skipping them.

Destiny's Way isn't primarily about Jacen either and theres some stuff in there that you NEED to read.

ok, so I should just skip traitor then. this is sad ya know...when I hate a character so badly that I'll skip books because of that character.

Jacen grows some balls in Traitor, it's almost worth reading almost to see that. It also explains a lot more about Vergere and Nom Anor.

That guys right, he stops being this whiney little bitch and learn alot about what happens to Coruscant and Vergere and Nom Anor, some of it seems a little slow, but you need to read it to see HOW Jacen changes, you probably won't hate him so much if you read it.

Honestly, I don't even know if I'm gonna last through Dark Journey. My favorite character is dead. I hate everyone else (well, Tahiri is kinda cool). What's the point?
I'm on chapter 6 of Dark Journey now and honestly I don't care to go further. This sucks. Fuck.

Well yes, that is the first glaring weakness.

Yeah Jacen seriously grows some balls in Traitor, he stops being the whining little pussy he was and considering whether its right to use the force or not. But anyways if you want to skip Jacen books then read the Enemy Lines duology and Destinys Way, Destinys Way is extremely important for the plot so it would be good to read it.

Yeah, that's the book that made me forswear the EU. It's a horrible book, I didn't even make it to chapter six. The only thing good about it is the picture of Jaina on the cover.

Dark Journey eats it bigtime. Put it down right now, and start the Enemy Lines duology. You don't really need to read DJ; there's nothing in it you NEED to know (Tenel Ka becomes Queen Mother, that's pretty much it), and the rest of the NJO pretty much ignores it.

And Jaina almost goes dark, which is important to one of the comments made by Kyp in Destiny's Way and it also explains where the new Hapan fleet comes from.
