Hm, I hadn't thought about it that way with the colors - I was going for a more conservative mix of dark blue and grey, with a little kick from the pastely blue.
What do you think about using a similar brown to the spear handle for the highlights? That is - I'm not aiming for cold so much as somewhat neutral.

it's hard to say and I'm by no means a professional artist, I just go with what I feel is right, I think you should too.
that brown might work or it just might end looking silly, it's really hard to tell without actually seeing it (that's the fun with computer assisted coloring you can redo it easily if it ends up looking something you don't like).
granted when I do draw (haven't done it in a while though), I tend to draw stuff like spaceships or similar rather then armor or people.

I used both a gold and a brown to test in this image, tell me what you think!
EDIT: meh, photobucket + moving = broken link.

Which color were you talking about, the orange or the gold? They're both there for comparison's sake.

I actually was thinking of keeping the orginal light blue and adding gold or what ever, but that's not really relevant as this works better imho.
like the hair color too.

It's superb, but your cleric isn't going anywhere... yet. It was tough getting that artifact to him, so I have no plans of killing him off any time soon. Also:
1) Why a horse on the pendant-thing around her neck?
2) The lacings around the groin area... wouldn't those typically go on the back?
3) So, is it safe to assume, then, that you've decided to keep her an Eladrin, and not go the Genasi route?

1) It's supposed to be Bahamut. Also, the Bahamut-seal is on the neck guard armor - the pink is a choker. I suppose you could think of it as a pendant on a choker...
2) Not in the example I used for that garment.
3) probably.
EDIT: does the top right edge of the hair seem a bit sharp? I feel like I have to curve it more.

1)Ahhh.
2)Ok.
3)Good.
Yeah, probably. The way it is now, when looking at it out of the corner of my eye, it looks a bit like her hair is a hood, somehow. Also, come to think of it, her lips look a bit thick, though I know that that is a case of Reality is Unrealistic.

I see, I'll see what I can do about the hair.
Also, about the lips - I used a model for the face (esp the mouth and nose), and that's about how big the lips were. *shrug*

Okay, I decided to take a break from D&D and DH (though only in the middle of drawing), and this is the fruit of that:
I'll post more old stuff soon too.
EDIT: see newest version!

I like that. Is she supposed to be a Army/Air Force officer?

Yeah, she's supposed to be military. Air Force seems to be the example I used, but the uniforms are similar enough that it could be either, since it's not colored.
I edited the face a bit, and made the tie look more like a tie, on a friend's suggestions:
EDIT: see next post. No need for all the edits, I guess.

Update: Changed the upper torso significantly (slimmed, shirt changed), and made the right leg a bit slimmer.

Drew a new version of my cleric, and posting old pics:
Much better, imo. The cleric was the first thing I'd drawn in years, and as such, needed to be totally revamped.
Friend's wizard:
A rogue, also drawn for a friend. This is one of my favorites, cept the eyes look a bit off.

More stuff:
An assassin, along with a bunch of random 40k organizational symbols.
An arbite - this pose seems a bit stiff to me, but oh well.

I like your practice character sketches, you're better at drawing female faces than me, but could you crop or downsize your pictures? It's full of bright nothingness.

Alrighty, I cropped some of the pictures and removed some edits in this thread.
This is my latest pic:
and also an old one, my friend's archer:
and a tech-priest!

A little too faint and completely colourless, but I like the movement and body poses with your three characters.

Bit of a long absence, but I'm back with some more coloring trials, just seeing what ways I can color with perhaps no inking.
This is the rogue but colored - I don't really like the effects, but eh.
This is a flat recolor of the techpriest - not bad if I say so myself.
Finally, a bit of wonkiness with the techpriest (just removed the pencil layer)

Before you paint them, up the contrast so your pencil lead lines get a bit darker.
