Military pay grades are also publicly available for anyone to look up, afaik. $5,000 a month really is a pretty okay payrate given all your food and shelter is provided, though it averages out to about $40-45k a year or so which isn't unreasonable for someone with a bachelor's.

There is a guy in my AIT class who is planning on going officer but is going through the 44C AIT fist so he'll most likely get branched Finance.
