The nebula was filled with watchamacallit made-up radiation that caused cellular damage after only a few minutes of exposure. One redshirt got killed during a two-minute dip into the cloud.
Christ, I forgot about those hideously awful Voyager plot devices. And I'll bet they had some stupid-ass rationale for going into the cloud, right? Like "it will take us six months to go around" or some other dumbshit. I'm so sick of magic Trek radiation which effortlessly penetrates massive bulkheads yet is so violently interactive with matter that it kills within minutes or instantly renders all technological devices totally inoperative.
I have a problem with the notion that the holo-doctor, who is a product of the ship's computer, is somehow so much smarter than the ship's computer that he has to be kept running or else the computer would be so damned stupid that it wouldn't know what to do in the event of a serious problem. Does this not strike you as an obvious contradiction?
Computers can't swap out parts, which holodoc and Seven had to do.
And Seven had some kind of special property that made her immune to cellular damage, right?

Something about her Borg nanoprobes repairing cellular damage far more quickly than any human could handle or some such, iirc.

Dude...that's just spooky...

JANEWAY: At the least, it would take us well over a month to get through it and more than a year to get around it.
Next thing you're going to tell me that the monster on Scooby Doo is really a guy in a suit :o

They can bring Nelix back from the dead, repairing 7's cells that rapidly isn't any dumber. And thus even more borg nanotech wankery.

Hmm. New entry for Mike's canon database. 110 ly in a month is a measly 1320c. And yet Trekkies still insist on using the BS speed from STV:TFF of half-way across the galaxy in hours.
