I probably will, if I don't forget or have anything better to do. The fact that it could quite possibly be the last new episode of any Star Trek ever...well, let's just say I'm sentimental about stuff like this. Here's to hoping that B&C can either finish up the series (and possibly the franchise) on an above average episode. Or, alterantively, that they use the GIANT RESET BUTTON OF DOOM to erase Ent from continuity, and Nemisis while they're at it...somehow.

Actually, he did Horatio Hornblower in space. "Wagon Train to the stars" was simply the sales-pitch to the Suits.

Sure, Enterprise sucked, but it's still Star Trek (officially), and I'll see its farewell...

I watched the rest of the shows for a research project I was doing (otherwise I probably wouldn't have seen anything beyond TOS & TNG, certainly not Voyager). They've apparently tried to fix some of the continuity problems in season 4, and they did have a somewhat interesting concept arc in season 3. Too little, too late. But I'll watch the end to see what they do with it.

And no, I don't think it's hypocritical to point out the flaws in the show and still watch it (even if I don't get UPN). If anything, this protects me from any claim like "well if only you'd give it a chance..." when criticizing it. And I can compare it to better stuff I also watch.

NO. Brand loyalty is what allows Paramount to make such shit and have people watch it. I ask you: if they used the ST property to make a ... childrens... medical.... sitcom.... would you watch it, because Trek is good? Of course not. I don't watch anything that isn't good, and ST hasn't been good for decades.

1) Probably not that night (its Friday...if I'm stuck home I'll be gaming and only turn to the TV to watch BSG), though I'm sure I'll borrow a tape of the ep from someone at somepoint for curiosity.

2) Star Trek will probably be back, someday so its not like its the end. And hopefully when it returns Berman and Co. will be gone and a new writing team will be able to make it an enjoyable show again. Till then, there are Sci-Fi channel and Spike TV re-runs.

Makes sense; Roddenberry considered TNG to be the purest version of his vision for the future and what he had originally intended for TOS.

Wouldn't it be nice if in this final episode, the NX-01 encounters a temporal anomaly, and in a flash of light the shaft-through-ring design Enterprise from TMP appears, restoring continuity and relegating the entire series to alternate universe-dom?

As I said in the cancellation thread, I'm afraid of this final episode. Since Berman and Braga are writing the final episode, I can't help but worry that they could end the series with the formation of the UFP or something even worse as a way of getting back at the fans who have dissed them.
