In addition to the episodes mentioned above I have a few others I enjoyed.
"Basics Pt1" - The whole "Seska DNA love child" thing was entertaining in a soap opera kind of way. I also really liked the battle at the end with Voyager against 3 Kazon cap ships...well until that kazon prisoner blows himself up and ruins the fight.
"Living Witness" - The one where a planet remembers Voyager and her crew as 24th century Nazi tyrants, complete with uber-evil Janeway and executions left and right.
"Blink of an Eye" - Where Voyager gets trapped in orbit of a planet where time moves faster and somehow causes earthquakes and misery for the population as a resule for "centuries". A few seconds on Voyager = years on the planet.

The part 1 of Basics was horrible due to how the Kazon defeated Voyger and boarded her. Part 2 where the crew were stranded on a desert world was better."Basics Pt1" - The whole "Seska DNA love child" thing was entertaining in a soap opera kind of way. I have to tell you something everything I wrote above is a lie.

This is a great episode. I should have mentioned it in my previous posts."Blink of an Eye" - Where Voyager gets trapped in orbit of a planet where time moves faster and somehow causes earthquakes and misery for the population as a resule for "centuries". A few seconds on Voyager = years on the planet.

Part 1 was good, more or less, even though it had the silly battle. And the stupid "exploding prisoner" thing. It was stupid having Janeway order the self-destruct, then have the computer say "no can do, missy" - at which point she should have just rammed her ship into the nearest kazon ship (if she was serious about scuttling her ship, which obviously she wasn't). But it was much better than part 2.

Yes, but you can't go wrong with Brad Dourif. He's pretty cool... for a psychopath.evilcat4000 wrote:Another thing about Basics that annoyed was how the psycho guy locked up in the brig saved the day.
One good thing about Voyager, in season 2 it has my all-time favourite scene: Tuvok is trying to eat his Vulcan swill, Neelix comes up to him and annoys him, Tuvok coolly and calmly kills him. You gotta love Vulcans (even if they don't love you).

As apposed to uber-morally-inconsistent Janeway, evil Janeway is just more... efficient.Sidious wrote: "Living Witness" - The one where a planet remembers Voyager and her crew as 24th century Nazi tyrants, complete with uber-evil Janeway and executions left and right.
This was one of the best Voyager episodes I've ever seen, but I give most of the credit to Daniel Dae Kim (Angel's Gavin, the toady lawyer) and the rest of the credit to Robert Picardo."Blink of an Eye" - Where Voyager gets trapped in orbit of a planet where time moves faster and somehow causes earthquakes and misery for the population as a resule for "centuries". I suppose I like the finale Endgame, but only because of Richard Whettstone's review of it.

Uh, I liked Jeri Ryan in her catsuit too
...other than that, I'd have to say how the writers made Voyager something like an Imperial Star Destroyer in terms of invincibility (can such a small ship really take out an entire fleet, as Voyager has done, again and again?
) Because you would think they would have died by season 2 at the latest, but I guess it was interesting to watch them kick ass all the way across the DQ. I liked that crazy armour the Admiral Janeway brought back in time to get them all home quicker, as well as those new torpedoes...I enjoyed the scene where the half-assed attempt on the part of Starfleet to defend Earth from a Borg sphere, only to have the sphere blow up, and Voyager pop out
. I also like the way the CGI scenes of the ship going through space "evolved" with the story, like the introduction of some modified Borg tech resulted in some bits glowing green (and this was long after Seven tried to assimilate the ship). I think I'm beginning to ramble now...

I liked Distant Origien, the episode with the Voth and how they were the descendents of the Dinos. Their tech alone was damn impressive, beaming entire Starships around, energy dampening fields that shut down everything from warp cores to hand phasers, hand computers that downlaoded Voyagers entire computer core in about two seconds...
But the best part of the episode was when Chakotey directly challanged the leader to look the scientific truth in the eye, to see something just as nobel as she proclaimed, an enormous acheivement of their ansectors, clawing their way across space against enormous hardship.
Then, just when you think he's convinced her, she closes back up and falls back on the relgious line.
It was an interesting episode, directly paralleling the Creationist crap we have in our time and how people will simply close their eyes to the truth, desperate not to let their assumptions be broken.

Distant Orgins was totaly illogical. Why did the Voth travel all the way to other side of the galaxy when they could settle another planet nearby ? And how come a race with the technology to cross the galaxy is affected by a mere asteroid impact ? It is almost as bad as Mission to Mars.

also i believe in the episode the dino species mentioned that it would take them roughly the same time to cross the galaxy as Voyager. A species -that- advanced hasn't thought up something more efficient than warp, when a few other less advanced species have something much more efficient? (ie - quantum slipstream)evilcat4000 wrote:Distant Orgins was totaly illogical. Why did the Voth travel all the way to other side of the galaxy when they could settle another planet nearby ? And the who knows why the Voth didn't settle in another planet in the AQ. 65 million years ago there may have been no realy good plaents for dinos to settle on in the AQ, hence the constent migration. Or perhaps they were as religiously fanatic as they are today, and 'HAD' to get to the Delta Quadrent for whatever reason.

We have no idea what the political state of the galaxy was when the Voth left Earth. For all we know, they may have had to flee to the Delta Quadrant or else the local polity would have finished what the asteroid started.
It's a shame the Voth were an alien of the week. There was so much potential wasted there.

Another episode I would like to add is 'Latent Image'.
The idea behind it is that the Doctor had a problem with his program, a problem generated with it that could not be resolved. He was faced with two patients who were both going to die, he only had time to save one. He decided to save Harry Kim and later couldn't live with it.
So Janeway instead of trying to help him simply deleted the memory files and ignored him.
Until later when Seven helped him recover the memory files. Janeway at first simply tried to delete them again, though he easily outwitted her with Sevens help. Then when it was shown that she was behind it, she just decided to wipe it clear to a far more final level, restoring him to his original configuration.
The truly kickass bit of the episode was when Seven *BITCHSLAPED* Janeway verbally about how SHE let the Doctor evolve beyond his original programming, now she simply discards him and refuses to take responsibility. And that she was quite possibly mistaken in her choice of role model for Humanity.
The speech she gives Janeway makes it one of the episodes I really felt I liked the Seven of Nine character. And Picardo did a wonderful job as well.
