My soap opera name would be Justin Cornell. I've considered writing under that pseudonym.

Dalton is your middle name Padraig or something pronounced like that. It's the only irish name beginning with P that i can think of that isn't Patrick.

Hey, half of your first name is the same as mine!

And why not just Michael Vincent? Is it hyphenated on your official records? Like Social Security card, report cards, etc? :D

Le sigh--does no one read my posts?!! *puts hand dramatically to forehead* :P

I already guessed, and it is Patrick. :D

Which part is that? I'd go check elsewhere in the thread, but well, you know. Laziness.

So my dad could feel like he had a say at all.

Yes. Often Michael-Vin for short.

The Michael part.

And, since I am in such a good mood (read SD.Net to see why :D ) I'll give my full name, sans middle.

Michael J Gillis.

Enjoy! Or whatever. But no stalking! Unless it's one of the female members.

Your middle name is Joy! Don't deny it! (It would actually be quite a coincidence, since my sister's middle name is Joy)

I really dislike my middle name, but Patrick Carroll Briscoe.

Patrick comes from St. Patrick. My parents are Catholic.

Carroll is my great-grandmother's maiden name (also Irish).

Briscoe is my given name, because that was my biological father's name, though if my stepfather had adopted me it would have been Gallegos (Spanish variation of the word "rooster").

Matthew was my Confirmation name, given to my by my aunt.

Have I told you that my mother is an immigrant from Italy? And Padraig sounds close enough to Patrick to be related, I think...
Darth Pounder wrote:Patrick is borring. Every guy with irish catholic blood in him has a Patrick somewhere in his name.
I was named Patrick for two reasons:

1. It sounded good;
2. It was the Anglicized name of my great Uncle Pasquale.

I was originally to be named after my grandfather, but my parents decided that Umberto Pasquale Dalton just didn't flow.

Pasquale, that is my uncle's name. Wouldn't Patrizio have a better ring?

LOL! For some reason when I think of giving out a name John Jacob Jingleheimer Smith comes to mind!

Dunno if you know it, but that name has respect in the drummer's world! Two drummers who were highly influential in the development in jazz:
"Papa" Joe Jones (who was one of the first to use the modern day design of the hihat)
and "Philly" Joe Jones.

Not that a quarter of the folk out there don't already know but mine is:

Gregory Robert Burnett.

Though as an odd bit of trivia my mother originally wanted my given name to be, get this, Dax.
