Barclay in First Contact?

Where was he? I didn't notice him at all...

He helped with Geordi and the Engineering in helping out Cochrane developing the prototype Warp Drive.

He was one of the landing party, meaning he escaped assimilation by the borg (goddamit), and we get to see him grin like a fool when he meets Zephram Cochrane. Yah. It was so worth it. (still, if you like Barclay you'll appreciate the humour in the scene)

Ok, I'll have to look more carefully. Why didn't they give him any lines?

They did...he was gushing over Cochrane like a puppy on sugar.

This is Barclay we're talking about. What is he going to say? "Zephram Cochrane, can I get your autograph?" :P

All I remember was some guy with a coiled piece of copper talking to him. He had blonde hair...didn't he?

"Dr Cochrane, can I shake your hand?"

Anyone remember that line?

Alyeksa will be a little more helpful than I though.

Imagine if Barclay was assimilated. The Borg would suddenly become neurotics with dozens of phobias, then get addicted to holodecks.

It would be the end of the Borg.

Mabye they assimilated him off screen and that's why the borg got all stupid after First Contact?
And this is why you don't watch anything produced by Ronald D. Moore after he had his brain surgically removed and replaced with a bag of elephant semen.-Gramzamber, on why Caprica sucks

Nice theory but he made appearances on Voyager after that so he wasn't assimilated.

The third, fourth, and fifth comics on this page seem appropriate.

Also Barclay suffers from transporter phobia. The Borg would have stopped using transporters if they assimilated him.

That would have been funny.

Barclay being expelled from the collective as they take back his Borg enhancements.

i can see it now:

Borg Collective: "3rd of 5, you are hereby removed from the collective and forbidden to be assimilated again."

Barclay: "B-b-but why? Ever since i was assimilated i actually felt like i belonged somewhere!"

Borg Collective: "Since you have come among us the drones have had urges to do nothing but ogle scantily clad females and talk with a stutter. the collective intelligence has dropped drastically. You shall be returned to starfleet, with luck your limited intellect will be a detriment to them."

Barclay: "Can i keep the implants?"

Borg Collective: "*considering* . . . . No. Absolutely not."

Barclay: "Phooey."
"It's you Americans. There's something about nipples you hate. If this were Germany, we'd be romping around naked on the stage here."
