Purchasing Star Trek uniforms in Australia

Post by Gandalf »

Does anyone know of a place in Australia where I can buy or order a Starfleet uniform from?

A cousin and I are going to a convention, and want to look good.

There's supposed to be some costume shops in the Sydney area which have Trek uniforms but I couldn't narrow it down.

It's actually easier to track down places to order them online. A lot of them claim to ship worldwide.

What style are you going to get?

Preferably either the classic movie uniforms or the TNG movie ones.

Remember, you can only yell "KHAN!!!!!!" in one...

Yes, but I can only say "They invade our space, and we fall back..." in the other one, win win situation.

But then again classic movie one will let me say "Earth, Hitler, 1938."

There were some ads on Startrek.com about trek uniforms. Perhaps you should check with the official site first.
I have to tell you something everything I wrote above is a lie.

Why don't you get stormtrooper armor? Don't forget to build a little cam into the helmet, so you can show us all how the people there looked at you.

Tempting, but I can't imagine what that would cost.

The Star Trek Experience in Vegas (which I just got back from; the best time I've had in a long while) sells several uniforms. The include the TOS TV shirts, the TOS movie jackets, a pitfiul imitation of the Season 3 TNG uniform, and the TNG movie uniform jackets (unlike the TOS movie costume, this does not include the turtleneck).

True, they're a little on the expensive side (TOS movie jacket costs $200, the TNG movie jacket $125), but it's worth it (unlike the fact that they are selling the DS9 DVD's at $175 per season, which is even more of a ripoff than Paramount's street price; I'm resolved now to get them from Fry's Electronics for $100).
