not being familiar with the EP series, i'd say the borg would be boned if they're anything similar in levels of technology. they only really gain drastic advances in technology through assimilation, with the occasional rare scientific research. and all they can really seem to do is adapt, as opposed to spontaneously generating new weapons or protection.

if the EPs can create devices to meet the situation available, maybe they can come up with something that could overcome the borg's adaptive capabilities?

The EP's (or "Echo Poppa's") are a planatrary defense system that has killed everything on the planet that they were defending, and kill anyship that comes into orbit. The only way to stop the constant computer controled upgrade system, is to purchase the product.

of course the enterprise managed to survive this first season menace by offering to purchase it, and then running away from the planet in question...

No input on what would happen if they encountered an unregistered version of the Echo-Poppa tech, probably be on it like microsoft lawyers on a warez site....
