Would this be Mr Hawke from First Contact?

Aye, that it would. Although his sexual orientation wasn't revealed in the film, rather a book which I haven't read.

They finally got some decent uniforms in the last couple seasons of DS9 but they still need to do something about the mandatory bowl cuts. Romulan (and Vulcan for that mater) women used to look pretty damn fine and part of that was that they didn't have the same haircuts as the males of their species. At one time I think they even wore different clothes in the form of skirts.

I guess I shouldn't complain. The humans of the TNG era were getting almost as bad. All the civilians wearing one piece jump suits. :wtf: They are not versitile and they are not comfortable without being loose and then that brings into consideration other safety issues.

Yes, they will be enough... To test the new and improved polaron-tetryon-transphasic beam of doom that Section 31 is developing

If you want reality, why the hell are you looking for it in a science fiction series.
Now that is a piss poor strawman.

He's asking for people...not suddenly turn Fiction into reality.

I kind of like to see the franchise really back out on the cutting edge like TOS was. Not necessarilly in the same way since every show tries to be PC preachy these days.

How about pushing the sex/sexuality/nudity boundries of tv. I don't means some poorly acted or written porno Trek but something along the lines that shows them really being further along than we are and less repressed about things. I still don't want to see any XXX style photography but that doesn't mean we couldn't be getting a good R or X (NC-17) style show.

Lets see some of that tolerance for nudity. Lets see a wide variety of sexuality types and realtionships, and not just cliches either.

let's really see what that pon far action is like:twisted:
Of course if this is supposed to be the future and we're gonna see them naked then they can't be drifting towards the barrel body that Riker and Data were going for at the end of TNG. Personally I'm surprised that the people of Starfleet aren't incredibly fit. Seeing as how humans are supposedly always trying to improve themselves in that time frame.

At the same time the show needs to plan on gaining and losing characters from the begining. It's about time that Trek caught up to everyone else by making shipboard life a bit more realistic. With the number of ships and commands and stations the Federation has crews should have at least some major changes over a 7 year period. Let's see someone take a big promotion and have it work out for them without it being time to end the series. I would like to see a show that moves away from having obvious star characters all the time.

I also want to see a bit more focus on the enlisted guys and it needs to be obvious that much of the ship is made up of enlisted people. A more realistic make-up of the

Porn-Trek, eh? I'll refrain from making the usual "Charting the New Frontier" joke, I- er, whoops. Nevermind. :P

I thought Best of Both Worlds would have been the perfect opportunity for this: Picard gets relieved of command, or at least put on some extended leave, and Riker's field promotion of Captain stays. Shelby's his new XO, and the show goes off with a different captain and a different first officer.
I also want to see a bit more focus on the enlisted guys and it needs to be obvious that much of the ship is made up of enlisted people. A more realistic make-up of the
An idea I read about this had the fleet crew who stay on the ship, and a marine crew who go down on landing missions, and the tension that would develop between the two. Also the battles would be cooler - you'd have something like "Arena" without the senior officers being on the planet in danger, but dedicated soldiers fighting back while in space the fleet crew handles the attacking starships.
