Wasn't the Ent-E equipped with regenerative shields? Didn't they get knocked out of warp by the first couple of shots from the Scimitar?

Yep. But thats because their shields were knocked out completely for that to happen. Nice thing about regenerative shields, they come back. Thats what allowed the E-E to soak up so much damage and keep on fighting. They kept putting good shields against the Scimitar trying to get the other sides back up to strength.

IIRC regular Federation shields dont regeneratee during combat. Rather they needed be recharged like batteries.
I have to tell you something everything I wrote above is a lie.

Watch nemisis most of their sheilds get knocked down at some point. Also they specifically mention their transfering power from one sheild to regenrate another.

I believe you are refering to the Sovergein class Enterprise which is equipped with regenerative shields.

Then what was that giant dome over the impulse drive going kaboom?

That dome is what is generally referred to in most blueprints and tech manuals as the "impulse deflection crystal". While part of the impulse drive system, it is not the engine unit itself, and the Reliant was able to withdraw at speed with her evidently undamaged impulse engine. By contrast, in TSFS, Kruge's BOP scored a direct hit on the Grissom's impulse deck, resulting in that vessel's destruction.

Details. So important to actually pay attention to them.
