Romulan Help
Ok, hoping that someone can give inmformation on a few items:
First: I am looking for suggestions for the name of a Romulan Warbird. If you have any intersting names that you made up which you don't mind me using or names from the series for ideas.
Second: I am looking for the name for a Romulan captain. Same thing, If you have any intersting names that you made up which you don't mind me using or names from the series for ideas.
Third, does anyone know the Romulan term for "Captain" and "Admiral" from the series.

i don't know about admiral offhand. though they seem to use the terms commander and subcommander as opposed to captain and commander. (the starfleet versions). far as admiral goes i believe it's simply admiral.

If you want to go by the novels: Bloodwing, Javelin, and Rhea's Helm, are all 'storied' ship names (approximating Enterprise).
If all else fails though, some sort of mean sounding adjective combined with a type of bird and you can't go too wrong. (Death Hawk, Blood Falcon, Syphilitic Sparrow, whatever).

I much preferred the rankings from The Romulan Way and My Enemy. My Ally in which the high flag-rank in the Romulan fleet is designated as Commander-General (held by the honourable Ael i'Mhessian t'Rllalielu); having been patterned after an airforce rather than a naval model.
Ranks in the Romulan starfleet generally seem to follow those of the Roman military but there are inconsistencies. There are Commanders, Subcommanders, Centurions, and Decurions. However, the TNG episode "The Defector" introduced the rank of Sublieutennant as well as the usage of Admiral in the Romulan forces. "The Enemy" seems to place Centurion as a low rank held by a junior, which contradicts "Balance Of Terror" in which the Centurion was a very senior officer and seemed to be acting as the ship's XO, and thus occupied a much higher place in the command structure. "Face Of The Enemy" and the DS9 episode "The Die Is Cast" establish that the Romulan Loyalty Police/Intel Service, the Tal'Shiar, use contemporary army rankings such as Major and Colonel.

Oil an emergency?! It's about time, Brigadier, that the leaders of this planet of yours realised that to remain dependent upon a mineral slime simply doesn't make sense.

I prefer the Romulan ranks from the Starfleet command games.I much preferred the rankings from The Romulan Way and My Enemy.
