Star Trek for Mekton Zeta

Post by Typhonis 1 »

How would you go about desining ships for Mekton Zeta for a Star Trek game???

Use Wings to simulate the warp nacelles, a Torso for the primary hull and a smaller Torso for the secondary hull. The lion's share of the ship's habitable volume appears to be concentrated in the saucer (most graphically demonstrated in the Galaxy-class's swollen, oversized saucer which appears to make up nearly three-fourths of the volume of the ship).

Ships without a secondary hull are even easier: A torso for the hull, two wings for the warp nacelles and a pod if it's got a rollbar pod.

Mecha Trek possibly the only way to decently revive the series...though it could be argued that the origional was animeish.

Yeah, the cardinal rule of Mekton has always been, "If you don't like a rule, change it." There are times - such as when designing ships - that you may need multiple torsos, and in those instances you should have multiple torsos (a prime example of this is the SDF-1 Macross, which properly speaking has THREE torsos - the main hull of the ship, and the main hulls of Daedalus and Prometheus).

Generally, very few Trek full-on ships will have standard hydraulics - only ones that come immediately to mind are the Intrepid-class and various Klingon Birds of Prey.

This has more to do with Star Trek than it does with mecha.

Thread moved to Pure Star Trek.

Now that I think about it, it actually does make more sense to model a photon torpedo tube (or any torpedo tube, really) as a cannon with warm-up time than as a missile launcher (since missile launchers in Mekton Z are intended to model things like missile pods or VLS).
