Trekkie or Trekker?
Simple question. Which do you call yourself and why. ANd if this has been done before, ignore it.
If you don't ask, how will you know?

I once heard something somewhere that said Trekkers wonder what sex is like in zero g and Trekkies wonder what sex is like, however, my personal opinion is trekkies is what everyone calls Star Trek fans, and Trekkers are what the fanatical trekkies call themselves to try and make themselves sound a little less like fanatical trekkies.
No offence meant, but it's the ones who scream that they're called trekkers not trekkies which are the ones to watch out for.

i don't really call myself either one. i like star trek, though the term trekkie always sounded better to me than trekker, it just doesn't sound as good (semantically at least), as trekkie. though i never really thought of the two terms as meaning anything different in either way. both denotes rabid star trek fan after all.

I'm not enough of a Star Trek fan to call myself either of those.Worlds Spanner wrote:Simple question. Which do you call yourself and why. ANd if this has been done before, ignore it.

I always thought that the Trekkers were the pompous fans that like to throw hissy fits when someone calls them a Trekkie because everyone knows the Trekkies are the really geeky rabid fanboys.
Personally, I like Trek so I don't really care if someone calls me a Trekkie or a Trekker because I don't really use those terms in refering to myself.
