Bloody ST-Western (Spoilers)

What is it with Americans and their obsession with Westerns? I do like to watch the occasional Western now and then, Unforgiven for one was a damn good movie, but mixing Westerns, Sci-fi and Star Trek just doesn't work. If B&B wan't to see cowboys they should start a new Wild West TV-show and leave ST alone (they should do the latter anyway).

Ah, and then there is the good old "humans abducted by aliens and whisked away to some planet" theme we have never seen before in Star Trek. Then there are those aliens oppressed and detested by the humans, except for this one chick that takes pity on them and even runs a school for them, she of course happens to be partly alien herself, she just looks exactly like a human. Does Paramount have a 'Generic Star Trek Filler Episode Plot Dispenser' automat hidden somewhere or are Enterprise authors just really uninnovative?

On the bonus note Archer did realize that the Transporter is an awfully handy device when it comes to rescuing people from though spots and now that we have seen MACO rifles in broad daylight it would appear that they do have iron-sights after all.

Over all this episode stinks of Equine extremen.

I liked this episode even if it was a rehash of episodes from the earlier series.
The only thing I really would liked to have changed is the mandatory one on one fight fight between the main bad guy and the Captain. And of course the Captain is wounded. Knock that shit off.

Given the size of the exit wound, he shouldn't be able to use that arm in the fight.

I'm beginning to question if the concept of body armor is a lost art in the Star Trek universe.

it wasn't that bad. It was done pretty well, even though it wasn't exactly original... and was a hell of a lot more plausable than some of the TOS episodes...the ones when planets got a hold of nazi or gangster literature and modeled their civilizations after them right down to the mauser rifles and chevrolet convertables.

Yes, but those episodes were so stupid they were funny. I liked how they made a makeshift laser beam by using a microscopic crystal imbedded in a subcutaneous transponder, with a light bulb being the power source.

Or Fizzbin. To this day I have an aversion to playing card games, mainly because no-one can ever explain them to me - I always think back to that episode where Kirk 'explains' the rules to those gangstas, and fool them.

It would seem so. I would think that they [Star Trek folks] would encounter guns often enough or just plain old shrapnel that body armor would be common. At least for the MACO folks.
