Are There Gay Klingons?
Well?
That's the wrong way to tickle Mary, that's the wrong way to kiss!
Don't you know that, over here lad, they like it best like this!
Hooray, pour les français! Farewell, Angleterre!
We didn't know how to tickle Mary, but we learnt how, over there!

It would be easier to answer this if we knew the mechanism behind homosexuality on Earth. It could be a condition unique to Earth, after all, or one that's not necessarily universal.

Ok, shock response aside, I see no reason why there wouldn't be gay Klingons (or Romulans, or Ferengi [eww!] for that matter) since the Klings are a (rather severe) modification on the human species made by those Preserver doods. I think it would be safe to say that homosexuality among Humanoid species would have similar prevalence to standard modern Mk 1 Homo sapiens. But hey you never know, what with Starfleet's extremely prevalent behavior- and gene-modification technology...

Have we actually seen any gay humans in Star Trek? Excluding aliens with a plot device to explain it? I can't remember any, but it is rather late, so I might be forgetting an example.

Good Point. There's also the good old original ST episode in which Kirk loses his memory, uses CPR on an American Indian kid, becomes Kirok, gets married to the standard American Indian Princess character, then she's killed, Kirk gets his memory back, and Spock activates the asteroid deflection system that keeps the nasty asteroid from wiping out an ancient nature preserve maintaining stylized Native Americans in a near-natural habitat.Spanky The Dolphin wrote:Some shit on Voyager that allowed Chakote to blather his piehole more about his indian decent.

Yeah, I'm not much of a fan of Native American stuff, since it just bores me to tears, but I didn't like that episode because of how boring it was.

I believe in a sign of Zeta.

No, there has never been a homosexual character on the show. In fact there has been some pretty anti homosexual stuff on it (that episode where Crusher falls in love with the Trill that gets implanted in Riker and then in a female), and everytime the possibility of a homosexual character is broached, it gets shot down.The_Lumberjack wrote:Have we actually seen any gay humans in Star Trek? No, but IIRC there was going to be something in the FC script about Lt. Hawk being gay, but surprise, suprise - they cut it.The_Lumberjack wrote:Have we actually seen any gay humans in Star Trek? Voyager summed up in 1 quote:
Neelix: These people dont appreciate what they have! This ship is the match of anything in a hundred lightyears, yet what do they do with it?
(fake voice) Oh, well lets go find some space anomaly today that'll rip it apart!
- Voy: 'The Cloud'
