Dominion Battleship vs Sovergein class starship

Post by Sarevok »

A Dominion Battleship engages a Sovergein class starship. Assuming that the fight takes place after the episode "DS9 : the ship" who wins ?

Note the Battleship is the "DS9:Valiant" type regular Battleship not the so called 5 km long superbattleship that some people claim exists.
I have to tell you something everything I wrote above is a lie.

I'd say the Battleship, it beat the shit out of the Valiant, and didn't seem to be too damaged. Then again, as seen in a thread I made last week, the E was apparently much more powerful. So I really can't help.

Was not the Battleship mentioned to be thrice the strength of a Galaxy ? Unless a Sovergein is that powerful it will lose.

I thought it was 4 times, I couldn't find the ep though. It was either twice the volume or length. No 5km stuff.

The Dominion battleship in "Valiant" was twice the length of a Galaxy. As for the 5 Km long superbattleship it comes DITL, it was supposedly seen in "What you live behind". Graham Kennedy thinks there do exist such a monstrous ship. I personaly do not think such a ship exists. Maybe someone who owns the DVD should do some scaling.[/code]

There is no such thing as too much info in regards to science fiction.

That's what I keep saying. Though every time I point out someone on tv who was ever on trek, she yells at me.

"Michael! The world does not revolve around Star Trek!"

Before I visited stardestroyer.net I knew nothing about Star Trek actors. Now I know the names of some of them like Patrick Stewart, Avery Brooks, Micheal Dorn.

Interesting note : I was surprised when I learned Micheal Dorn voiced Weasel in "I am Weasal". He is so hillarous.

It was way worse, I was pointing out people who were guests for one episode and people who were recurring characters. And any references to Trek I either debated them or concurred, and likened plots on tv to those on Trek.

I love the voice in I Am Weasel, it's so cool.

The Dominion BB is said to be three times the strength of a GCS. Though It didn't realy appear to use much of its weapons power against the Valient. Only ever firing a couple of cannons at a time which when they hit the Defiant didn't realy do anything more then a Bug would do.

Which makes me think that the Jem'Hadar on the ship were attempting to deny the Valient information on their ships capibilities. They knew they were perfectly safe from anything the Valient could throw at them. But they didn't know if this was an information probe and a kick hit-run attack or what. So they didn't want to tip their hand unless it was absoloutly necessary. Hell they didn't even bother to take prisoners, they just blew every escape pod they saw to ensure nothing got out.

On topic, I think the Nemesis rev of the Sovereign class has quite a good chance of taking down the Dominions supership. The Mark I varient however I don't know, it might it might not. I'd suspect it would win, but have a far harder time.

I'd generally agree. The Nemesis Sov could probably do it, but I don't think the first flight could.

The Sovereign-I would put up a good fight and if the Battleship captain wasn't careful he would be destroyed. The Sovereign-II would win the battle fairly easily. It has more weapons, regenerative shields, and ablative armor. Any two would tip the ballance in the battle. All three seal the Battleships fate.

Four words: MARK TWO QUANTUM TORPEDOES

(Never mind it has what, 16 type twelve phaser arrays now(?), as well as what are likely mark six photon torpedoes, the armor and of course the regenerative shields :D )
