best tos episodes

Post by Shrykull »

What do you think?

I'm not sure if you consider it a good one but on the rare occasions I watch a TOS episode (just because it's on at the time and I'm channel surfing) I see the Apollo episode.

Space Seed. My brother and I quote lines from that episode all the time.

Trouble With Tribbles is quite good, although I think it has a tendency of being overrated.

I like City on the Edge of Forever a lot. I think it qualifies as a romance episode.

Space Seed is also very good. Also very appealing female guest star. :)

A Piece of the Action.

Kirk/Spock interactions while driving a manual-shift car is a blast, better than in ST IV (LDS?).

"By Any Other Name". Let's see...hot women, check. Scotty drunk off his ass, check. Kirk scoring with hot alien babe, check. Seriously, a good if silly at times episode.

I also remember "What Are Little Girls Made Of?" fondly. This one had the hotest babe ever from TOS, a compelling story and Lurch from Adams Family going off on "The Old Ones".

My favorite is The Tholian Web. Its very suspensful, and its kinda funny too with crewmembers going berserk every few minutes, Spock playing captain, and an intangible kirk floatin' around looking very distraught. I watch it often to get my mind off of things.

Balance of Terror

That is a really interesting fight.
And also good to see, that the Federation is not political correct at this time.

After all these years, and all these advances in special effects, Balance of Terror is still, hands down, the single best space battle in Star Trek history, by a very wide margin.

Unfortunately, I haven't seen many of the other classics from the series (whenever I tune in they're always showing something from season 3,) so I can't really comment on how it stacks up against City on the Edge of Forever and the rest, but, on its own merits, BoT kicks oodles of ass.

What about "Elaan of Troyius"??? It's no "Balance Of Terror", but it was certainly memorable in a good way.
