Hellblazer
Keanu as John Constantine
This could either go decent(sorry it loses some points because I just don't see Keanu as John) or truly piss poor

Well while Vendetta brings up a perfectly plausible reason here goesEleas wrote:...who is John Constantine and why is he being made into a movie?Ghost Rider wrote:Keanu as John Constantine

A nice enough explaination as well as why being made into a movie?John Constantine is by turns a total bastard, a drunk, a trickster, an adrenaline junkie, a womanizer, and sometimes, when no one is looking, a nice guy. He has no superpowers, only a sharp wit, a little bit of magic, and a reputation Aleister Crowley would envy.
Dunno but if done with a bit more care for the story it would a be very good contrast to the HP/LoTR magical material. And for some reason comic book properties are being sucked up left and right.

John COnstantine could never be made it into a good Hollywood movie. He is far too complex a character to fit into a 2 hour movie. Now a TV series, that might work but it would have to be a BBC production to get the authentic English feel. He is definately one of the best characters to come out of the Vertigo line.

No, no. It's some other John Constantine obviously. I mean, the one we're all thinking of is English and blonde. And not Keanu Reeves.Hendrake wrote:Oh, no. They're going to fuck up one of my all time favorite characters.

I am sad.
It would be nice if the movie was a hit so that more people would pick up the comic book, but it's not like anyone that reads it now is going to drop it because of this.
So, howzabout that Mike Carrey, eh?

God, DC characters just can't get a fucking break in movies. Constantine's most probably gonna suck. Not to hijack the thread or anything, but here's a picture of another upcoming DC movie, with Halle Berry as Catwoman. TRY not to die laughing.

Let's change a shitty alliterative name and give Halle Berry a a bad S&M outfit, just so we can piss on any fans and not attract anyone to watch this piece of shit.

That is going to suck sooo much royal ass....and as the picture was loading I thought it looked more like something from Black Scorpion than from Catwoman. I don't feel quite so disappointed that Halle Berry took over for Ashley Judd in this. It looks like it could suck and it would hurt a certain Oscar winner to be taken down a few pegs 'cause she ain't that good. Okay, I'm peeved that she keeps attempting to throw her weight around and mess up the next X-Men movie. Oscar or no Oscar she's at best the 4th-5th best actor involved in the series. The cat is finally out of the bag. HALLE BERRY slinks into a strapping new ensemble this week when filming starts in Vancouver for Catwoman. The Oscar-winning actress plays the Felonious Feline (see also: Princess of Plunder, Mistress of Malevolence) from the Batman series, a role made famous by Eartha Kitt in the '60s TV show and reinvented by a neoprene-clad Michelle Pfeiffer in 1992. Berry's leather cat suit for the 2004 film is "very bare, very urban, very downtown," she says. Her character, Patience Price, is a scientist at a cosmetics company who transforms into Catwoman — or should we say Sex Kitten?--to take on her nefarious boss, played by Sharon Stone. Benjamin Bratt as a detective is the love interest for Berry's Catwoman, who is both villainess and heroine. "She's not Superman," Berry says. "She's not trying to save the world." Instead, like a pampered house pet, Berry says, "Catwoman is out to save herself." Could be quite a purr-formance.
The casting for that movie blows too, and where the fuck is Selena Kyle? Not the one from Batman movies but the catburglar style theif from the Bat-comics?
As for Hellblazer, I haven't been exposed to it at all other than I've seen the action figure and ads for some of the comics. If the movie doesn't completely suck I may pick up some of the comics.
