As for my opinion on the original subject:
B'Elanna might be of Klingon descent but she seems rather ashamed of it until 4th season IIRC, and as a result we rarely see her using a bat'leth. I haven't watched DS9 but from what I can gather, Jadzia probably has more swordfighting drill than B'Elanna.
