What handheld fantasy weapon/tool?
In a complement to the sci-fi handheld weapon thread, what handheld widget from a fantasy series would you like? No godlevel stuff; no Infinity Gauntlet, or Thor's Hammer, or that stuff.
Me, I want one of the Aberrant widgets. A tiny machine that uses Matter Creation. It can produce stuff that defies the laws of physics. Superconductive armor by the ton!

You can only see from one stone to another. So you're basically asking for an oversized paperweight.Chardok wrote:I want a seeing stone from LoTR.

Re: What handheld fantasy weapon/tool?
There was a Star Trek novel that had these energy weapons that operated apparently off of nothing. One about the size of a heavy machine gun could blow up a mountain, or, for that matter, a starship in orbit. One of the pistols would do quite nicely, I think.SirNitram wrote:In a complement to the sci-fi handheld weapon thread, what handheld widget from a fantasy series would you like? ...Of course, they came with a catch, but one not particularly worse than any average fantasy weapon, unless someone has to go and ruin the entire store by finding the motherlode.

Provied that i can protect my soul while using it, the deamon sword Drach'nyen. Although this is from WH40K it is not really a sci-fi weapon and deamon weapons do exist in WHFB.

Yeah, like Lockheed from X-Men/Excalibur comics. The Yosemite Bear wrote:Pet Dragon....
I'm kind of disapointed about the Thor's hammer bit since I already have one. Still, I'm apparently not entirely worthy since I can pick it up but no godlike powers what-so-ever
I wouldn't mind some of the various handheld weapons from the Dungeons & Dragons cartoon. I particularlly like Ranger's bow since it was powerful and somewhat versitile. Barbarian's club would be kind of fun and Denfensor(?) shield was okay. Actually all of the weapons were pretty good. The magic hat, the bow staff and the invisibility cloak all had their moments.

I also wouldn't mind a Green Lantern ring. I kind of like Alan Scot'ts flamey version better even with weakness to wood. Fewer people seem to know about that weakness while the yellow weakness to most other GL rings is fairly well known.
If it really came down to it I'd rather have Dr. Spectrum's power prism even though it doesn't seem to be as powerful as any of the GL rings.

Bad Tysroc...using Alan Scott's ring(though it is a magical thing...the remains of the Starheart)...that thing outdoes Thor in every way.
As for me...now that you mention it...the Magician's hat was the best if controlled. Which was the problem everyone else's items were easy to use, that hat needed honest control.
