The AI Bubble Survives on $1.65 Trillion in Hidden Debt
This reminds of the 2007 financial crisis and 2000s tech bubble (ironically to a lesser extent).
Lack of regulatory enforcement, massive amounts of hidden debt, huge hype train, financial press mostly jerking off the bubble, and the masters of the universe telling the rest of us it all makes sense and don't worry our little brains about it.

I've been asked why I still follow a few of the people I know on Facebook with 'interesting political habits and view points'.
It's so when they comment on or approve of something, I know what pages to block/what not to vote for.

The underwriters pumping the companies they are underwriting was basically deregulated recently (the rules around were weak to begin with).
I have to agree. Nothing is going to happen legally.

More then likely what will happen is the loans will become due or default in some way, and the US government will bail them out.
Depending on the company in question.
Some of the AI companies will not have any problems. I don't believe Microsoft Copilot is in danger unless Microsoft itself goes down.
(I can see further development of Copilot slowed, but I can't see Copilot vanishing without a replacement/upgrade).
However, any where AI is the primary income source, will either need a government bail out, or will probably crash and burn.
Hopefully at least 1 of the 2d to 3d AI convertors (preferably one with segmentation) will survive and continue on.
