Grendizer U -- giving a number to a Super Robot

Post by Majin Gojira »

Grendizer U aired recently, a retelling of the series UFO Robot Grendizer, better known in francophone countries as Goldrake. In the sixth episode, the scientists at the photon research laboratory analyze Grendizer's power output and put it at 170 trillion joules (170 terajoules).

That's... that's a LOT. They compare it in series to the output of a star. And it kind of fits, as near as I can tell. The Vegan forces' capital ships have planet-busting capabilities, and both they and the Fleed consider Grendizer to be terrifying Black Box technology.

It's weird having a number like that for a super robot show when I'm so used to seeing that sort of thing in relatively harder sci-fi series. So, I thought I'd share it.
ISARMA: Daikaiju Coordinator: Just Add Radiation
Justice League- Molly Hayes: Respect Hats or Freakin' Else!
Browncoat
Supernatural Taisen - "[This Story] is essentially "Wouldn't it be awesome if this happened?" Followed by explosions."

Reviewing movies is a lot like Paleontology: The Evidence is there...but no one seems to agree upon it.

It's an Anime.

If you're expecting logic or accuracy with the real world, you're expecting disappointment.
I've been asked why I still follow a few of the people I know on Facebook with 'interesting political habits and view points'.

It's so when they comment on or approve of something, I know what pages to block/what not to vote for.

Exactly! I went in expecting utter nonsense, and I got something that at least seemed somewhat accurate!

With a stupid number read out of all things!

Even assuming this is a german trillion (1E18 instead of the english 1E12), that's a minuscule fraction of the sun's output (which is on the order of several E26J/s. And as star's go the sun isn't very impressive.
