Elephant in the room: Hulk has a son that he fathered on Sakaar?

It's a comic book reference, there's persistent rumours there's a world war hulk movie coming and he might figure into that.

Time on Sakaar is weird but it does seem an out of nowhere thing with lots of weird implications since Hulk was a slave his whole time on Sakaar.

He was a CHAMPION. Why would he NOT have access to women? Hell, the gladiators of Rome had married Roman wives throwing themselves at them. Why would it be any different on Sakaar?

It's less the having access to women part than the issues of consensuality in any relationship taking place between a slave (champion or not, Hulk is enslaved here) and someone else. Either Hulk's been thrown slave girls to have, or he's been used as sex slave by free women.

Plus Hulk in Ragnarok had an apparently child-like mentuality. There's a lot of potential issues with any relationship he might have had during that time period.

Those people hold gladiatoral battles (presumably to the death) for their amusement. I doubt they'd worry about the ethics of the situation much.

No, shit.

That wasn't my point either.

If you don't get 'Hulk shows up with his rape-baby' is a weird plot point for Disney to run with, I don't know what else I can say?

He was a slave in the comics forced to fight against his will, in Ragnarok we get no such suggestion that he was actually a slave and he appeared to be very willing to fight and enjoyed the adjuration of the crowd.

He was explicitly captured and brought to the arena by Valkyrie.

And his quarters are ornate.. and he's locked in them by a forcefield. Just because he's enjoying the arena and attention doesn't mean he isn't a slave. He just one in a gilded cage.

Yeah, best case scenario is that because of Sakaar's different flow of time, he had that kid after he went back.

But I'll admit that's a long bow to draw. Crazedwraith has the right of it I think.

He had been in Hulk form continuously for two years by the time Thor found him with Banner having no memory of that when he finally changed back when he saw Black Widow's recording.

Rewatching the scene where Thor and Hulk are in the gladiator's quarters, the forcefields are seemingly triggered by the Obedience Disks of the wearer because Hulk could walk out of there no problem but Thor could not, and the piece of food that Hulk threw didn't trigger the forcefield. Hulk could leave any time he wanted to but remained because he likes it there.

Plus, you know... Not all slaves are created equal. Ragnarok isn't one of the movies I've seen, but if he was a valuable arena champion (on top of physically being the Hulk) he probably was in a position where he could reject advances without retaliation. Especially if they weren't coming from his owner/someone specifically in a position of power and authority over him.

Well his 'owner' was Jeff Goldblum, the only other person who might qualify is Valkyrie, if not for the obvious size difference.

Maybe he decided NOT to reject?

Sure, lots of issues about the kid's conception, but kids are conceived by rape or other questionable consent and should not be hidden away or treated as if their existence is shameful.

First, hulks mentality was not child like. It was 'brutish'. Hulk clearly understood everything, he was just content with his life. He saw no reason to leave.
After all, from his point of view -
On Earth - People feared him (remembering he left shortly after the Scarlet Witch mind-whammed him a city in a fight with the Hulk Buster), and avoided him. He had to hide, and couldn't have sex with anyone without risking them serious harm.

There? People cheered for him, clamored for him, and were probably drawn to him. He had a nice place to live, freedom to come and go as he pleased, was well feed, and apparently wasn't suffering from yellow-ball syndrome (the Hulk version of Blue Ball Syndrome).

Hell, why the fuck would he want to leave?

I can envision the conversation between him and the Grandmaster

Hulk: "Why should Hulk fight?"
Grandmaster: "Well, if you fight, and win, well, People like winners. Winners get things, like cheering, and applause, and food, and women."
Hulk: "So, if Hulk smash who you tell me to, and Hulk get laid?"
Grandmaster: "Yes, that's it."
Hulk: "Hulk smash to get smashed!"

So, less child like, and more 'horny hormonal teenager'
I've been asked why I still follow a few of the people I know on Facebook with 'interesting political habits and view points'.

It's so when they comment on or approve of something, I know what pages to block/what not to vote for.

Yes. That's the point. Consent assumes that he had the ability to reject advances and chose not to.
