Where the do you think the money for the Iraq war is supposed to come from, thin air?
Deficit spending.

Republicans and Democrats both love spending money. The difference is that Republicans have no qualms about spending the next generation's money. At least the Democrats are honest enough to spend this generation's money.

With all due respect to you, Iceberg, the Republicans in Massachusetts are actually trying to SAVE money by cutting state-run programs like GSA (Gay-Straight Alliance) and SafeSchools programs in public schools. (Hate crimes go up 8% in the past 6 months. But hey, we're saving money!) Kerry also proposed tax cuts to people who don't drive SUVs (which is actually a pretty cool idea: Fuel conservation = tax deduction.)
Granted, he's only saving money because the LAST state government spent enough money for the next 7 generations in cost-overruns on the Big Dig, paying for babysitting the Lt. Governor's daughter, renting a helicopter for the Lt. Governor's personal transport... all on the State's bill. I'm glad Jane Swift is out, and actually relieved to see a Republican step up and take things over.
...I hope no one got that on tape...

Nice to see how people look at someone because of their party, not because what they do.
With that said, Daschle is, a, well, lets just say that I am not to fond of him (not because he is a demi, but because of his policies).
Right noble of you. And people don't just divide others up into Rep / Dem anymore... now it's Pro / Anti-war. And I think that while this distinction is going to be much more short-lived, it has already proven to bear with it all the fires of Hell.
