US money may soon be even sillier
I saw this on my facebook feed. And cried.
First, some background. The signature of the Treasury Secretary appears on US dollar bills, and that position is most likely going to Jack Lew after Timothy Geithner steps down. Why is this cause for tears? Well, see for yourself...

Yes, that really is his signature. Oh. My. God.

I love that signature. It makes me feel better about how stupid mine is.

I find the idea of people expecting him to change his signature because they don't like the idea of it appearing on money to be sillier.

Eh, it's better than mine. At least it is consistent on being squiggles.
Mine changes between print and cursive mid-letter and it is always on a different letter per time I write it lol.

I don't care how silly the money looks as long as it's still worth something.

Re: US money may soon be even sillier
Does anybody even look at the signature on the current currency? Of course not.
Re: US money may soon be even sillier
Well you could say the squiggles would make it that little bit easier to counterfeit.bilateralrope wrote:I find the idea of people expecting him to change his signature because they don't like the idea of it appearing on money to be sillier.
But it's probably relatively minor with everything else they'd have to copy.

Geithner also has a terrible signature. Guess what he did for the signature that was put on newly printed money?
He changed it.
Guess what Lew will do?

Hahahaha, oh wow. Here I was expecting some kind of loopy L that would make his name look like Jack Jew or something cornball like that. But no, instead it's some kind of dead slinky.
I kind of want him to go and use this so I can find a dollar with it and fifter years from now pass it off as the legit signature of Treasury Secretary Oooooo. (it's Irish).

Actually, there are two signatures on all US bills. Treasurer of the United States and Secretary of the Treasurer.

It looks so appropriate to me. I hope it isn't changed.

Now that was funny.
But really, I write my signature in block letters. Always hated cursive.

When I saw the thread title; I thought of this.
Even the signatures on this money though aren't as bad as that.
