The Glass House axed - Howard to blame? *snark*

Post by weemadando »

Yeah, sure, its all because Howard told the ABC to. The Glass House was BLATANTLY biased... At least The Chaser got stuck into EVERYONE regardless of affiliation. But The Glasshouse seemed to have an excessively anti-Liberal bent without the kind of balance and restraint that even Kerry O'Brian can manage.

I'm kind of sad to see them go, but that's mainly because we'll no longer be able to see Arj Barker, Pinky Beecroft, Ross Noble, Rhys Muldoon and others being ridiculous on air in a fun panel environment. Hell, the Glasshouse would have been better if they hadn't taken a political angle as much and just stuck with the stupid news stories. At least then Wil, Corrine and Dave wouldn't have had to (and failed to) think about keeping their fucking tongues in their mouths long enough to think about what kind of shit they were stirring.

No, einy. When Ando says it's Anti-Liberal, he means Liberal Party, which is our conservative party. He doesn't mean 'small L liberal' which is what you might think when you hear the term.

Frankly I won't be sad to see the Glass House go. I was never that impressed by Wil, Corrine or Dave's humour.

No. The Liberal Party in Australia is the Conservative party. The Glass House was a comedy program on the ABC that got axed.

Oh, horseshit. This is a show that had the likes of Amanda Vanstone and Barnaby Joyce on the panel. As Anderson legitmately pointed out last week, the Liberals are in power so of course they're going to cop more flak - especially on a show that, unlike the Chaser, relies entirely on newspaper clippings. This 'bias' shit is complete and utter rubbish - I remember on the original election Chaser they had a joke about how they had to give Labor and the Libs equal joke time. Now it's fucking come true.

I love the smell of September in the morning. Once we got off at Richmond, walked up to the 'G, and there was no game on. Not one footballer in sight. But that cut grass smell, spring rain...it smelt like victory.

Dynamic. When [Kuznetsov] decided he was going to make a difference, he did it...Like Ovechkin...then you find out - he's with Washington too? You're kidding.

Yes, its natural for the party in power to be the bigger easier target, but I still think that there was a definate, visible bias.

I don't think that its a good enough reason to axe it though... The real reason is quite clearly the fact that the ABC are trying to wash their hands of anything that might hurt future budget allocations.
