One thing I hate about Enterprise

Post by Superman »

I am just now watching an episode where two aliens are inhabiting two crew members and discussing various observations. At one point, one says something like "the Cardassians did the same thing when they were here..."

Why does this series treat space as if it's their back yard? You know what I mean? Is it plausible that, during this time period, humans OR Cardassians can easily travel these distances? What's the deal?

"All aboard the Obvious Train, en route to Duh-sville. Last call."

;)

[edit] JMS had to beg and work to get all those seasons for B5, and the way he was screwed over had a detrimental effect on the story. Firefly gets cancelled after 14 episodes. Farscape gets cancelled after four seasons, amid fan protest. Yet Enterprise is given a place on TV, and comes off as though a retard penned it. All the other shows are deserving of more than what they got, and Enterprise's continual airtime is just insulting to us fans of scifi, and of star trek.

The Ferengi were also mentioned at one point. The reason is quite simply that B&B are morons who are labouring under the delusion that they are being clever. Also they lack the skill or imagination to create new ideas that would provide material for the backstory of TOS,

My absolute favorite Enterprise episode ever is the one where Klingons attack a mining encampment and the captain beats them by trapping them in a Circle Of Fire and telling them not to come back. They agree. No shots are fired. Nobody is killed. Most ludicrous episode of any television show I have ever seen.

"The Wire" is the best show in the history of television. Watch it today.

Yeah, I got one too. All those people who waste time whining about it. Don't like it, don't watch it. Christ, it's not like I watch shows I don't like for the sake of whining and bitching about them. Got far better things to do.

Oh wait, it's you Supes. I know you don't have a life. All's forgiven. :P

The moral of the story? Let's listen to Cap'n Archer, boys and girls!

"Give a man a fish, and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish, and he eats till the end of his days."

Unless some bone-headed fucks come to steal your fish, in which case you trap them in a ring of fire. Or unless the waterhole dries up, in which case you die.

I hate Enterprise and quit watching it after the first season. I still hate it, mostly due to what it has done to Trek.

Those are pretty tough words from a guy who watches "Dawson's Creek" and tries to say that a Borg cube is bigger than the "Executioner." Bah, it was an observation. Carry on, Walp. Carry on.

This is another reason i don't consider enterprise to be canon.

Real Canon
TOS, TNG, DS9, Season 3 to 7 Voyager

Not Canon

Season 1-3 Voyager, Enterprise TNG Movies..

Bah, that´s nothing! My personal canon:

TOS, Movie-era and any ships said to be from the 23rd century.

No commie-PC-80s tainted-bullshit for this semi-trekkie. 8)

And now that this thread is falling apart, can we lock it? :P

"Organians" is pretty bad, but even Farscape had the "Litigurians" (a race of lawyers) and the "Diagnosians" (a race of doctors), so crappy alien names are somewhat forgivable.

We´re not discussing the names, we´re discussing the fact that they namedrop established alien races like a son-of-a-bitch, even long before they are contacted.

They even had the Borg in an earlier episode, proving that Starfleet is so incompetent, they forgot about the Borg entirely... Twice. Once with Seven of Nine's parents, once two hundred years before that. Graham Kennedy hasa very good article about it.

The Cardassians *were* known in the 22nd century. Dax mentions knowing a Cardassian poet who was in exile on Vulcan in the late-21st or early-22nd century, well before Enterprise.

...and then there's the Ferengi, Borg and Klingons, for which I have no excuse. Maybe we can salvage season 4 as canon ?

Three times. The refugees from Generations were running from the Borg, but Starfleet apparently didn't bother to question them.

Oh yeah, though fortunately it was decided that we wouldn't get to see a Romulan, they did have a stealth device in 'Minefield' which functioned the same as a cloaking device... Well, at least they didn't blow it entirely and give them a cloaking device.

It was for all intents and purposes a cloaking device. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck...

Nevermind that the Federation was already exposed to cloaking devices in the form of the Suliban... Shh! Don't tell anyone! Shh!

Well, at least Braga isn't writing anymore. Manny Coto seems to genuinely care about canon and stuff.
