Imp. Styled ST Weapons
I was thinking about this last night. Tell me I'm a big loser. lol.
But in the Movie Nemesis, The Romulans/Remans (not sure which) made a biological weapon to eradicate organic life from a planet, leaving buildings, compounds and everything up for the taking.
That is similar to the TNG episode with the weapon that can do almost exactly the same thing. (Where Captain Jellico took command of the Enterprise) except it was created by the Cardassians.
In Generations, a trilithium weapon could stop all fusion in a star and cause a shockwave that would destroy all planets in a star system.
The Genesis Device, if used as a weapon, could immediately "remake" the planet, and produce an entirely new (possibly different) planet, eradicating the life already on it including buildings and craft and structures, etc.
Are there any other weapons from ST that if developed by them, could be used by the Imperials? I mean like bad assed big-time weapons.

Biological agents are too random and difficult to control to be of real interest.Romulan_nemesis wrote:I was thinking about this last night. Tell me I'm a big loser. lol.

They've already got a star-killer.In Generations, a trilithium weapon could stop all fusion in a star and cause a shockwave that would destroy all planets in a star system.
This would definitely interest the Empire, but not necessarily as a weapon of destruction. It is the ultimate terraforming device. The Genesis Device, if used as a weapon, could immediately "remake" the planet, and produce an entirely new (possibly different) planet, eradicating the life already on it including buildings and craft and structures, etc.

I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

The Imperials don't need Treknology. They already have/had a starkiller (Sun Crusher), planet pestroyers (Death Stars), and they probably have bioweapons
Actually, if I'm not mistaken, the Sun Crusher, much like the Genesis Device, was a prototype only, and -- also like the Genesis Device -- was destroyed, leaving no workable basis from which to construct another.

Of course, on a more impressive note, given only 200 more years (speculatively) someone in the Federation will have invented the Tox Uthat (sp), what basically amounts to a palm-sized Sun Crusher. What took Republic civilization 25,000 years to invent will (will have happened/has happened) in only about 200 years for the Feds.

To be specfic The Sun-Crusher was examed by the Republic and possibly has some record of its working and most assuredly the Imperals have a record of its design thanks to Admiral Daala who took a full copy of all current and past Desgins of the Maw Instlation with her when she left itActually, if I'm not mistaken, the Sun Crusher, much like the Genesis Device, was a prototype only, and -- also like the Genesis Device -- was destroyed, leaving no workable basis from which to construct another.

Technology from the sun crusher was obviously documented. LANDO used some of it to create a CIVILIAN economic venture, Gem Diver station (ref. Young Jedi Knights).
Your statement, JC, that it was a prototype is correct, but the technology is clearly easily duplicated.

The Empire also has lots of biological/chemical weapons, as anyone who has read Diversity Alliance would know.

Quantum-Crystalline Armour is also far from lost, and was duplicated for an Academy shuttle.

Why would they need Quantum-Crystalline Armor to do that? Why wouldn't their speed/maneuverability/firepower simply overwhelm the Bioships. Even if a bioship was able to hit a few TIE Defenders, they would be infinitesimally small losses to the Empire.SirNitram wrote:Quantum-Crystalline Armour is also far from lost, and was duplicated for an Academy shuttle.

The Tox Uthat is from the TNG episode Captain's Holiday. Picard, his larcenous lady love Vash and an irate Ferengi end up in a three-sided scavenger hunt for the device, with a pair of Vorgons from the 27th century (taking a break from constructing hyperspace expressways, apprarently) thrown in for good measure. The device is a future gizmo that its creator fled into the past with to hide the thing. Picard ends up destroying it.Simon H.Johansen wrote:Where did we hear about this Tox Uthat thing???John Clark wrote:Of course, on a more impressive note, given only 200 more years (speculatively) someone in the Federation will have invented the Tox Uthat (sp), what basically amounts to a palm-sized Sun Crusher. What does it do, and what does technobabble call it?
I'm glad you asked ...
The Tox Uthat is: a quantum phase inhibitor able to stop all nuclear reactions within a star.

In other words, it causes an average yellow star to prematurely become a White Dwarf. Thank you.
Hyperspace expressways, huh? Well, there's the proof the Empire conquers within two centuries.

Sorry, the hyperspace expressway thing was a little gratuitous Hitchhiker's Guide reference.
As for turning an average yellow star into a white dwarf star, apparently that is exactly what the Tox Uthat is supposed to do.

How is it deployed? (being palm-sized is meaningless if it need to be delivered to the sun's core)John Clark wrote:Of course, on a more impressive note, given only 200 more years (speculatively) someone in the Federation will have invented the Tox Uthat (sp), what basically amounts to a palm-sized Sun Crusher.
How long does it last? Nanoseconds? Microseconds? It can't "inhibit" forever.
How large of an area can it affect? Palm-sized suns?
Oh yeah, its Trek so their is no math and no limits. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

But, the Suncrusher wasn't researched for 25,000 years. It only took a few decades to research and develop. It had resonance torpedoes that could cause a star to go supernova in hours. And with QC armor, it could shake off TL fire, and endure high temperatures. How does that palm-sized thingy compare?
