Enterprise uniforms are the best in my opinion.
Simplistic, Practical, good deal of pockets, and on flag officers TIES! Real ties at that.
If there was a bit more distiction between officer's uniforms and lower ranking person's uniforms (say tie and belt for all officers), they would be perfect. But they are good as they are.

IMO this is the uniform styling I think they should be using.
For a basic uniform for officers take the TNG Movie era uniform and modify it slightly. Give it some pockets and make it an obvious two piece. For the Class-A officers uniform take the TOS movie era uniform and modify it somewhat giving it pockets as well as changing the color style to a darker color to match the TNG Movie uniforms. Rather then make it Red as primary, go Black and Grey but have elements of the department color integrated (red, blue, gold). Take the TNG movie era dress uniform and modify it so its an obvious two piece and use that for dress uniforms.
For the enlisted stick with the TOS movie era, give it more utility pockets, and darken the color scheme, also give it departmental colors.
Engineering will wear their specific uniform as shown in the TOS movies specialized for their dangerous work.
Of course specific uniforms for pilots, security, and what not will need to be developed.

True, only Gene Roddenberry would come up with a dress uniform that's ACTUALLY A FUCKING DRESS. I still can't believe he did that.Alyeska wrote:Those white dress uniforms were far better looking then the POS DRESS looking dress uniforms.Darth Servo wrote:You mean those butt-ugly white POSs???Alyeska wrote:Same with the new dress uniforms.

The lack of pockets is one thing, but everytime I see those spandex, form-fitting "military" TNG uniforms, I couldn't help but frown; what if the person wearing it get a sudden erection? I mean, how would he hide it from the surrounding peers?Darth_Zod wrote:<snip> ...and unlike the uniforms in TNG, the uniforms in the ToS movies actually had pockets.

These are Roddenberry-ized men you're talking about. They don't get erections unless they're either possessed by evil spirits or influenced by some kind of strange radiation. I think they reproduce by using transporters to beam their lifeless sperm into their wives' dry vaginas.Kreshna Aryaguna Nurzaman wrote:The lack of pockets is one thing, but everytime I see those spandex, form-fitting "military" TNG uniforms, I couldn't help but frown; what if the person wearing it get a sudden erection? Not exactly uniforms...but every last one of us here has got to acknowledge one of the most bizarre choices in clothing ever made in the history of Star Trek; the Ilia Probe's bathrobe/dress/whatever in ST:TMP. Not that I'm complaining. They could have put her in another pastel jumpsuit (pink perhaps?). I just wish she had hair.
On an unrelated note, I'm not sure if I would be able to bring myself to fuck a bald woman, even if she was a Deltan with that hormone crap or whatever it is they do.

Notice that the horny (Pon-Farr) Vulcan in ST:VOY didn't get erection either. Is it just something in Vulcan reproductive system, or maybe Starfleet uniform has some kind of "erection-surpressing" mechanism?Darth Wong wrote:These are Roddenberry-ized men you're talking about.
