Two questions about Generations

Post by Agent Fisher »

When did the enterprise get those extra stations on the bridge. And second, what year was the christmas in the ribbon supposed to be set in. Because I saw among the gifts a toy i myself had played with.

1) Because it was a movie so they had the budget to clean up the TV set and improve it a bit.

2) The Nexus is timeless. Notice how they're also in archaic clothes by our standards?

1) Yes, the bigger budget = better sets. But we are supposed to believe it means they got a quick refit to update the old bridge.

2) Nexus grants whatever you want--that scene is what Picard considers an ideal christmas, hence the old clothing, mixing of toys, traditional and futuristic ornaments etc. Time doesn't matter really.
"Do not worry, I have prepared something for just such an emergency."

"You're prepared for a giant monster made entirely of nulls stomping around Mainframe?!"

"That is correct!"

"How do you plan for that?"

"Uh... lucky guess?"
