In order

Sovereign
Prometheus
Galaxy
Akira

That's just my opinion though. :)

For fire power packed into the smallest frame possible, I have to go with the Defiant. Otherwise, raw firepower wise its likely the Sovereign. Check out the beating she took in Nemesis and you see the brainbug of exploding warp cores finally dying a much deserved death.

Not to mention the oodles of torpedo launchers. Speaking of which, I should probably add the Akira class to my list. Fifteen launchers in total qualifies it as a powerful warship. :)

The shuttle of course. One may be destroyed easily, but a million more magically appear the next episode!

How does the three-nacelled phaser-cannon-weilding Enterprise stack up?

Is the federation still working on that phaser cannon? Maybe they can install it onto a 4-nacelled sovereign in this timeline...

If your talking raw firepower, not combat effectiveness, it is as follows.

Akira (15 torpedo launchers go a LONG way)
Sovereign II
Nebula (Torpedo pod)
Prometheus II
Sovereign I
Prometheus I
Galaxy II (War GCS)

Assuming combat effectiveness, it changes somewhat.

Sovereign II
Prometheus II
Sovereign I
Prometheus I
Akira
Nebula (Torpedo pod)
Galaxy II

While the Akira and Nebula have more firepower then the Sovereign I or Prometheus I, the Prometheus I and the Sovereign I have superior phaser power (close combat situations) as well as better endurance with armor and shields.

In the Enterprise episode "Azati Prime", Archer was pulled into the future by Daniels to witness a very important battle, in which the 26th century Federation (which by that point includes the Klingons) defeat the Sphere Builders. The ship Daniels and Archer are on is the Enterprise NCC-1701-J. The only actual image we have of it is a display on the wall of the hall they're standing in.

Sovereign II
Prometheus II
Sovereign I
Prometheus I
Akira
Nebula (Torpedo pod)
Galaxy II
What's the Prometheus II?

The Prometheus class only appeared once or twice and I don't remember an uprated version

The Prometheus seen at the end of Voyager "End Game" was supposedly a variant of the Prometheus. Basically, it's 25% bigger and can't split into three pieces.

Keeping ships in scale with each other has never been a Star Trek strong point.

Strongest Federation ship? Foolish question. What else can it be but the Enterprise and her nigh-invulnerable character shields? 8)

It's about the one quote from Riker which makes him out to be something more than an angst ridden moron.

Be fair. The fact the Soviets managed to build a much safer OKB-650 series reactor for their 3rd and 4th generation subs does not mean their older reactors weren't dangerous jobs.

Besides, though the design used in Chernobyl is widely reviled as unsafe, there were still lots of RBMKs that managed to make it through their careers in relative safety.

Allright. How do the ships from First Contact stack up with the rest? The Saber, Norway, Steamrunner, etc. all seemed to be combat vessels and very modern. Are they too small to be effective?

The Saber is very small and we haven't a clue about the Norway.

I don't remenber the name of the voyager episode but isn't the Normay the ship that future Kim was commanding when those two klingon ships attack future janeway shuttle?

Harry had an upgraded Nova class. Not the Norway class.
