Been there, done that, bought the t-shirt and ate it...
EDIT: FUCK 90 is ALOT. I didn't pay that much for the DS9 DVDs.

Why the price jump from the DS9 boxsets whoch I remember retailing about $79 (Still steep IMO as far superior box sets went for half that)
I think the VOY sets were pretty expensive too. Paramount truly enjoys ass raping the fans don't they. Thank god there's only three seasons of this to buy then I'm done with Trek box sets altogether.

The DS9 sets here went for $129, but if you were lucky and went to costco and found some there, they were only $109. That's why I don't own any, and only one season of TNG.

"Like...are we canonical?" --Aaron Dembski-Bowden to Dan Abnett

Now that I think about it, I got the DS9 sets on a special sale through my B&N membership that gave me an extra 10% off. That may be why I'm thinking of them as cheaper than these new sets.
Still, unfortunately TOS DVD's can't be ignored, but you have to wonder how pissed the guys who went and bought those first run of DVD's are. Sometimes I winder whether there should be some standardization of when special edtiion of DVD's or boxed sets can come out.
Unfortunately the current trend with these companies is to put out a quickie DVD then wait a few years and put out an uber edition the way the first one SHOULD have been. This trend is upsetting to those of us who look at a $20 DVD and wonder when this purchase will be rendered obsolete by the moneygrubbing studios.
Do it right or don't do it at all.
