In this day and age of "Dawn of the Dead" (that's right - literal ZOMBIES more dangerous than the Borg) and "The Matrix Reloaded," there's no excuse for the Borg to be anything but a force so terrifying you'd rather fight Xenomorphs with a revolver.
what kinda revolver, and how many xenos?

I sure am glad Patrick stopped that idea in it's tracks.
It sounds like they are so fucking desperate that they must copy Lord of the Rings now? Besides why should Patrick Steward be part of it ,he said he had quite Star Trek.[/quote]

They were talking about First Contact.

Colt Peacemaker, 9 Xenos. Have fun

Seriously the Borg could have been nightmare worthy, a twisted mirror image of the Federation ideals of betterment through unity. They could have been relentless huns at the gates of Earth, destorying everything and salting the ground behind them. They could have been Embodiment of Choas, ripping away all the tech that caught their interest leaving biologics behind in complete stone ages...

Instead... Techno Zombies?

It sounds like they wandered into goofy fanfiction territory and just through Star Trek into whacky adventuredom.

Defining what species of Zerg would be good, you'd be best served turning that gun on yourself if it was 9 Hydralisks you were facing.

In TNG Borg used to be a nightmare vision of technology gone haywire. Voyeger turned the Borg in a race of zombies. The things that made the Borg terrifying and scary disappeared. They were no longer unstoppable. A Sphere and a Intrepid can defeat the Tactical cube supposedly one of the most powerful ships ever.
I have to tell you something everything I wrote above is a lie.

Um...I can't imagine what type of handgun would give you any chance against more than three or four of them. But let's say 5 of the Aliens xenomorphs and a Smith and Wesson .38 Chief's Special.

Of course, there is always Machiko Noguchi, who did end up hunting acid-blooded xenomorphs with a revolver, a 12.5mm Smith (presumably Smith & Wesson), loaded with jacketed bullets for big game hunting. Of course, she also ended up accepted as a second-class sort of hunter by Predator society. (The Aliens Vs. Predator novel Prey)

No no, not a new movie. They considered setting First Contact during the Renaissance or the medieval period rather than post-WW3.
It's Rogue, not Rouge!
