Trying to find the opinions of the members
I want to know who of you feel which way about wong's calculations. The first i expect to be the most prominent. I chose that i agree mostly, but i would factor in human error and possible false assumptions to throw off some calculations, possibly in favor of the feds. Im not doing the user09 thing and bashing rabis warsies or trekkies tho, so begin the polls!

To believe that Mike is perfect would be unscientific, and I doubt he'd want that anyway. About all of his work has seemed reasonably accurate to date, and that's why I consider his page reliable.
Trusting him to always be right would be doing him a disservice, IMHO.

"No trekkie bashing. That goes for warsie bashing too. This is one thing i want to keep absent. All the bashing is the worst part of this board, and a major turnoff."
Well, that's where opinions diverge.

Never fear. Give me the poll question and options and I'll edit it for you.

I think that the vast majority of Wong's calculations are accurate, but there are a few ones that could be changed. Also, it is often hard to compare upper and lower limits across the different universes. Some of his assumptions are a bit far-fetched, but his math is always impeccable, and his understanding of physics is genuine (unlike some of the people on his Hate Mail page
).

Re: Trying to find the opinions of the members
I agree. We should not assume that he is right (we should actually read what's going on, rather than skipping to the conclusions), and we should check his work, but so far it has been extremely accurate and very easy to follow. Also, if we just assumed he was right it would give Mike license to just make up figures the way lots of people on the internet do, and that would make him no better than everyone else's work. IMHO it would be best for us to remain scientifically skeptical of his work, but to accept it if there are no flaws (or utterly insignificant flaws) in it.Eleas wrote:"I want to know who of you feel which way about wong's calculations.
