Here's a rather amusing little anecdote.

This morning on CNN, this was a segment featuring the proposed revamp of NASA and the guest speaker, we were told, was Miles O'Brien.

Alas, it was with a twist.

It was indeed Miles O'Brien - but rather, not Miles Edward O'Brien as played by Colm Meaney on The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine, bur rather a NASA spokesperson by the name of Miles O'Brien.

Amusing, yes.

Needless to say, there are unconfirmed reports of Trekkies arming proton torps. at CNN... :twisted:

I'm betting CNN's Miles O'Brien gets his share of jokes and/or torture on that twist of fate ;)

Maybe this is how that cult of Trekkies they mentioned in Futurama got started
I've been asked why I still follow a few of the people I know on Facebook with 'interesting political habits and view points'.

It's so when they comment on or approve of something, I know what pages to block/what not to vote for.

And one of the guys in the choir at my university is named Patrick Stewart. Which is seriously ironic, because he was a right xenophobic bastard while we were on the trip to Britain. Kept saying the Brits are retarded for driving on the wrong side of the road. To their faces. :roll:
