Transwarp Conduits?

Post by Techno_Union »

I am not at all knowledgable about the Borg so I need some help because of my Borg wanker friend (again).

How are Transwarp conduits made? Do they need to be layed, also what are some canon things I can bring up?

Thanks.

not too sure really. We've seen 3 variations on the theme.

Transwarp drive, which lays the conduit along as you go. I think that this is the middle speed. Seen mostly in Voy.

regular Transwarp conduits, which you only need to enter to cruise along in. This is the slowest, and is what the borg used during TNG.

Transwarp hubs, which link a lotta points via uberfast transwarp conduits. You don't need a transwarp drive to navigate this, but you do need to be able to enter the transwarp hub. This is the fastest, and was seen in the last season finale of Voy.

The transwarp hub seen in "Endgame" was more like an artificial wormhole. It spawned a portal near Earth.
I have to tell you something everything I wrote above is a lie.

So why didn't the Borg ever do that before? Send maybe one Cube and a Sphere?

Because it was s brain bug designed purely to get Voyager home faster and provide some borg bashing for those still watching VOY.

The more used explenation was that the Cube heading to Earth in First Cotnact was laying the conduit as it went and that the Borg never used it simply becaue they got far too busy soon after FC with stuff like Species 8472,

B & B did not want a spectacular battle between the Borg and the Federation Earth deffense fleet.

Of course not, if the Borg attacked Earth from a postion of strength like that and with the ablility to easily reinforce their effort, Earth would fall, the Federation would be finished, the franchise would be dead and B & B would end up in new jobs requiring skill in rudimentary logic, writing and retention of what they did last week ... they'd basically be fucked. :P
