I thought this was another good episode. It seems more and more Enterprise is beggining to right the ship. I've seen many of the things people complaining about, being corrected here in the third season, and hopefully that will continue for a fourth.
The writing in this episode was again very good. The storylines in general are becomming much more believable as characters are making rational decisions, rather than such trash as we saw in earlier episodes where we were treated to TNG era Federation dogma.
Highpoints in this episode, Tucker finally comes to grips with his sisters death. It takes the death of some of his close friends on Enterprise to do it. I remember some people complaining he didn't seem emotional enough in earlier episodes, and apparently the reason was he was in a sort of denial about the situation which comes to a head here.
Degra is brought fully into Archers camp after being presented with a multitude of evidence that suggests they were being decieved by the sphere aliens. There is even what I consider an homage to Han Solo's "It'd take a thousand ships". It seems this whole season they have been doing things like that.
And to those of you who worried there would be no continuity from damage Enterprise took, have no fear as repairs are still underway and apparently will carry over into at least one more episode.
Another thing of interest, Daegra gives Archer the coordinates for a "subspace cooridor" that increases speeds when traveled in it. Now, such things have been theorized about Trek for quite some time to explain variances in speeds. But I believe this may be the first time one has been mentioned in a canon episode.

I agree, the episode was quite good, I am especially pleased that they haven't hit the reset button yet and it looks like they aren't going to either. Although the repairs on the NX-01 are proceeding at quite a pace.
I do wonder how long it will take before someone like Steward at SDI argues that a thousand NX-class ships can blow up a planet.

Hmm. It was alright. The best part was Tucker brodding and hallucinating on the death of Ensign Taylor - heralds back to TNG's Lower Decks and reminds us that for all of the big guns in Trek, they're still as human and that every life matters, especially for the NX-crewmembers who knew that they probably would not return alive from this mission to the Expanse.
The worst part for me was Degra. Don't get me wrong; I think he's a fascinating character. I simply id not like how quickly Degra was ready to betray his people. It felt too rushed - unlike Damar on DS9 with his slow-growing distrust of the Dominion and his change of alliances in The Changing Face of Evil.
Anyway, that's my two cents.

I don't know about that, I've seen from the beginning of the Xindi arc that he hasn't been very trusting with the non-mamillian Xindi. We saw that while Archer captured him, he was pretty willing to believe what he was presented with.JME2 wrote:Hmm. It was alright.
