Kirk vs Sisco
Alternative to the Kirk vs Picard battle. Assume each has an Avenger / Miranda class starship with no special crews.

Re: Kirk vs Sisco
This one goes to Sisko. He's got that almost fanatical intensity during the later seasons of DS9. He even fired biogenic warheads into a Maquis colony to stop Eddington. In comparison, the worst Kirk ever did was stab his enemies in the back.Kitsune wrote:Alternative to the Kirk vs Picard battle. Well, the Miranda is also closest to the connie in general configuration. Lets be nice, we will give Sisco a Miranda and Kirk a Connie but not the EnterpriseMetrion Cascade wrote:It also bears mentioning that Sisko actually served on a Miranda class.

They would both sit there exchanging heated (yet PG-13) words before engaging in a vicious battle with lots of twinklers and lightballs.
Then for no apparent reason other than sloppy writing, they would both beam down to a nearby planet, hit each other with phaser rifles instead of shooting each other, and just when you think Kirk's had enough, Sisko accidentally rips Kirk's shirt.

The Connie doesn't have the military bias of the Miranda. And it's a hell of a lot less robust structurally.Kitsune wrote:Well, the Miranda is also closest to the connie in general configuration. I was suggesting it to see if he would do better, if not.....never mindMetrion Cascade wrote: The Connie doesn't have the military bias of the Miranda. And it's a hell of a lot less robust structurally.

Unfortunately, if it's Bald Sisko, even Kirk's ripped shirt's not enough to overcome the Hawk factor. Bald Sisko simply channels Hawk (From Spenser For Hire) and his badassness prevails.Winston Blake wrote:They would both sit there exchanging heated (yet PG-13) words before engaging in a vicious battle with lots of twinklers and lightballs.

The universe is far stronger than you think. It resisted Palpatine "Dark Evil Overlord" (TM) thing and Anakin-Amidala "Love Story". Although barely, it will survive this.Wicked Pilot wrote:I'm not sure there's enough room in one universe for both their overacting at once. This can be dismissed as the universe managed to survive the DS9 remake of the tribble episode.Wicked Pilot wrote:I'm not sure there's enough room in one universe for both their overacting at once. Spacetime is torn in two via some kind of quantom singularity, no one wins.
Devolution is quite as natural as evolution, and may be just as pleasing, or even a good deal more pleasing, to God. If the average man is made in God's image, then a man such as Beethoven or Aristotle is plainly superior to God, and so God may be jealous of him, and eager to see his superiority perish with his bodily frame.

Are we talking a DS9 era Miranda? I believe Kirk would simply beam to Sisko' ship, where he'd meet him in a holodeck simulation and get bummed for 4 hours, by Sisko- but love it, while Sisko screamed manically, in that death defying screechy voice he belts out "The Prophet, The Prophets".
All around them, would be multiple gay fests between TOS/DS9 crew- Garek would be going for it with Sulu, Worf would be riding chekov while dressed as Stalin and Quark would be tickling scotty between the cheeks.
in the end, Sisko would have pounded Kirk right through the ripped T-Shirt stage and into oblivion, considering he is now exists outside of linear time.

KIRK:

Oil an emergency?! It's about time, Brigadier, that the leaders of this planet of yours realised that to remain dependent upon a mineral slime simply doesn't make sense.

That said, it is, in the TMP novellisation, said to only be a Heavy Cruiser due to politics, as, given that it's the most heavily armed ship in the fleet re-designed to take on the new Klingon battleships, it should really be called a battleship. In that light, it's probably more heavily armed than the Miranda...Metrion Cascade wrote:The Connie doesn't have the military bias of the Miranda. And it's a hell of a lot less robust structurally.
