Works for me. How is he or his race in hand-to-hand combat? Stronger than a trooper in armor or weaker? (I ask cause I love writing close in person-to-person fights :)

Ok, unless I'm back on the pipe, I think we're only waiting on a name for 8472. Anyone concur or disagree? You ppl want to give it another 24 hours?

Start writing an opening scene. When we hear from 8472 him/her, we're golden. First one to post, posts the start! w00t!!! So at 9:43 Pacific Standard Time, Saturday the 10th, we kick this off - lol, you do the math for your time zone!
If by chance we happen to get a double start, we will ignore the second one. First post is the ture start.

Oh, if we don't get a name by that time tomorrow - then lets give it until Sunday for the official start and hope that someone else posts up a character. Otherwise we'll just start the war with 7 instead of 8.

And of course if you disagree or have a better idea, post it below. I just offer the above as a plausible solution. Not married to it or anything.

This universe is more powerful then the Star Wars universe but their F.T.L. is slower, (they are kinda like Dahak's universe the books by David Weber, only less powerful and faster then them) as for his hand to hand combat it is average to a trooper.

I have a message board devoted to just this sort of thing. It's focused on Metroid, and after about a two year hiatus, we'll be starting it up again, soon.

Everyone is invited to join in.

http://members.boardhost.com/FireNexus

The board name is case sensitive. I hope to see you guys there.
I had a Bill Maher quote here. But fuck him for his white privelegy "joke".

Hey, I find your board interesting. But I would rather that you post a character or a plot/theme or a story idea in this thread. Post something that is relveant.
Don't take this the wrong way, but wtf?
I can define wtf for you if you like?

As I said, its a cool board, but I really don't understand why you posted here without an idea or a character or something to add. Just post in the main if you want to show us the site. You are of course welcome to post scenes in this story once it gets going. But don't disrupt this thread danke.

I figured that it was related and thus would be relevant. I probably wouldn't even have thought to post it here, otherwise. Sorry.

species comander

Post by starcraft »

Okay i call him species comander becase like the prottoss they speak through telapathy their names are too long , but his history is as follows he like the rest of the species believe in "THE STRONG WILL SURVIVE THE WEAK WILL PERISH" how they got to the star wars galay simple

The Borg cube fled from the smaller ships chasing it. There had been a time when
the collective could not even consider the possibility of defeat. But the last
four months of warfare had taught them that defeat was not only relevant, it was
very very real. Now the collective was scattered, each ship forced to control
itself. Some had simply stopped, unable to cope, but others had managed with a
varying degree of success to carry on. This ship had been lucky, it had avoided
detection and survived, but it's luck was just about up. The course of events
had already been calculated, the ships of species 8472 would catch them in 4.12
minutes, and when they did, the cube would be destroyed. Quite why they
continued to flee therefore seemed odd. There was no logic in it, but still they
fled.

Sometimes however, logic does not have all the facts, and therefore cannot
generate correct conclusions. The appearance of the type 4 wormhole ahead for
instance. The Borg had explored this area of space, but had never detected this
wormhole before. There was a slight pause while the new calculations were
performed to see if the odds of survival would increase by using the wormhole,
and then the cube altered course.

Three minutes later, the Borg ship dropped to impulse, and passed through the
wormhole, closely followed by the eight bio-ships.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Admiral Raeder was not a happy man. Quite what he had done to offend
his superiors was not clear, but the effects of their displeasure
certainly were. Thus he found himself in command of a "fleet", in the
most Sith-forsaken part of the galaxy. He smiled mirthlessly when he
thought of his rag-tag group of ships as a fleet.

His most powerful ship was this one, his flagship, the Imperial Star
Destroyer Black Star.

The Imperial Star Destroyer Black Star

However, the Black Star was over twenty years old, and well past the due date of
a refit, only carrying half her maximum complement of fighters. She had spent
her time out here patrolling the outer rim. Quite what the threat out here was,
no one was sure. The area, at the extreme edge of the galaxy, was sparsely
populated, and not even the rebellion seemed to bother coming out here. Put
simply, it was the backend of nowhere.

This was probably just as well, since his fleet (the 121st according to
his orders) was not capable of fighting a major threat. Consisting of 1
ISD, 2 Dreadnoughts and 6 lighter frigates, any serious attack would
roll straight over him. His fleet got the leftovers No new ISD II's out
here, nor Super star destroyers.

Still, there didn't appear to be a major threat. At least there hadn't
been in the three months that he had been here...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Borg ship emerged from the wormhole, just seconds ahead of the
bio-ships. It immediately performed a scan of the area. Within moments,
it had located a clutch of artificial objects, probably starships. If
the cube could plant a Borg drone aboard the ships before they were
destroyed, the collective could grow again. The cube immediately
altered course towards them

The bio-ships emerged from the wormhole, and scanned space. It was
interesting that the wormhole point seemed closed this end. It would be
undetectable to normal scanners, but since they know where it actually
lay, they should be able to find it to get home.

They continued scanning, and the Borg cube was detected immediately. A
pursuit course was entered, but seconds later it became clear that the
Borg ship was heading towards some other ships. The bio ships
considered. Even if those other ships turned out to be Borg, they
wouldn't be heavily outnumbered. There were only 9 ships ahead.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Aboard the Black Star, Raeder was pulled out of his introspection by
the call from an officer.

"Sir, we have a contact on two ships heading towards us. They are very
close."

"Why were they not detected by our TIE patrols?" he replied.

"Unknown sir, they just seemed to....appear." answer the officer.

Raeder scowled. "I can see that extra training is required from our
scanning department".

Another officer looked up. "We're getting some kind of message."

"Then let's hear it"

There was a pause, and then a strange cybernetic sounding voice came
over the speakers.

"WE ARE THE BORG. LOWER YOUR SHIELDS AND SURRENDER YOUR SHIPS. WE WILL
ADD YOUR BIOLOGICAL AND TECHNOLOGICAL DISTINCTIVENESS TO OUR OWN. YOUR
CULTURE WILL ADAPT TO SERVICE US, RESISTANCE IS FUTILE."

"Not very friendly bunch are they?" said Raeder lightly. " Sound
battlestations and open a channel"

The ISD's alert siren sounded, and the officer nodded to the Admiral
indicating that the channel was ready.

"Borg ship, this is the Imperial Star Destroyer Black Star. You are in
violation of Empire territory. Halt your ships, lower your shields, and
prepare to be boarded."

Almost immediately, the answer was returned.

"EMPIRE IS IRRELEVENT. TERRIATORY IS IRRELEVENT. YOU WILL BE
ASSIMILATED. RESISTANCE IS FUTILE"

As soon as the message was received, a strange green beam lanced out
from the cube, hitting the star destroyer's shields.

"Return fire" snapped Raeder. "Damage?"

"No damage to the ship, but the shields are being drained. We're down
to 90%....85%."

Through the windows, the Admiral could see the turbolaser fire heading
towards the Borg cube. The first bolt struck the cube, blowing a large
chunk off the corner. More bolts struck seconds later, causing further
damage.

The Borg cube is hit by multiple turbolasers

"Sir," called the weapons officer. "Our shields are down to less that
40%."

Raeder nodded. The other ships were also firing now, and it seemed to
him that he would win the race. His fleet was doing huge damage to the
Borg ship, much faster than it was draining his shields. This race
could only have one outcome!

He felt a surge of satisfaction, as the Borg cube suddenly exploded
before him. But the satisfaction only lasted a second. From the centre
of the explosion emerged a bright orange beam, blasting straight
through the cube, and heading directly towards the weakened ISD. Raeder
had just enough time to open his mouth, before the combined fire of 8
species 8472 bio-ships, blasted straight through his ship's weakened
shields, destroying it instantly.

Seeing the destruction of their flagship, the other Imperial ships were
momentarily stunned, but then they shifted their fire to the eight
bio-ships.

The bio-ships broke formation, manoeuvring rapidly to avoid the
turbolaser bolts. They returned fire individually, almost immediately
hitting three frigates, all of which exploded in an eye watering glare.
The remaining Imperial ships regrouped, and poured fire at the
bio-ships. Two of the bio-ships took multiple direct turbolaser hits,
and were destroyed, but the others fired again, destroying the
remaining frigates. The two surviving Imperial ships continued firing,
destroying a third bio-ship, but they also turned to escape. species comander's thoughts It was
clear that they couldn't defeat these aliens alone, and it was
important that a warning was given to the empire. However, it proved
useless, the aliens were fast and nimble, and both ships were struck
before they could make their jumps to hyperspace.

With the destruction of the last of the Imperial ships, the remaining
five bio ships turned back towards to wormhole. It was clear that these
aliens were not Borg, but then they were also hostile. It would be
necessary to clean this galaxy of them, but not just yet.

First they would have to summon more forces....

You succumbed to the almighty morphin' bioship fallacy. You made S8472 much more powerful than they are. And so did you do with the Borg. Though we are going for a fair fight here, it should be made clear that we do not switch advantadges (giving ST the superior weapons etc).
Sorry, but this wasn't the kind of beginning I'd hoped for.

Although there is a bit of a discrepancy it is not really big, in the beginning he explained that this was a backwater fleet and that the ISD's shields were already lowered a lot from the fight with the Borg, though they should not have been lowered that much, but it is a smaller discrepancy then seen by some of the village idiots around.

Conceded. I was only a bit surprised at the speed the borg drained the ISD's shields and the ease with which the bioships fried their Bioship cluster at the vessel.

FireNexus,
Please accept my apology for being an ass to you with my reply. It was unwarranted. It is a nice site. Sorry about that.

I got to thinking (dangerous I know) about the opening.

How about if everyone writes a page or two without any contact with the others. An introduction oriented half chapter.
This will allow us all to understand each others characters and the different universes and technology. And also help us get used to each others writing styles. Plus, it won't matter who posts first as the first post will not include any war contact. Just your own character.
I see this as a way to avoid problems when we write about each others characters.
Instead of thinking 'the admiral would never act that way' I can instead just read the come back and think 'how the hell am I going to get him out of this mess?'

Make the last description/line of your intro the spotting of the anomaly that will lead us into contact.

What do you guys think?

good idea, expect mine soon... I intend it too be a series paragraphs from different moments in his life then having him read the future that leads him to the fiction. Actually before we start I've a few questions oin potential ideas I have, minor points at the moment, but ones that could lead to 'cultural misunderstandings'

1.) In B5 or any universe do you think the how do put this... specials of the races. (By this I mean say Force user's, Telepaths, anyone with an unusual power for a normal member of that species really) would be able to detect a soul encased oin a gem?
2.) assuming that someone does, how do you think a standard person of these special factions, and/or someone they might tell, would react to finding a person with such an artifact? EG say Delenn was told by a teep that a person had a gem with what felt like a soul inside it...
3.) Do people out there now what a spirit stone is, if you do and looking at the previous questions bear in mind that the Farseer will be carrying one, on top of his own. If people don't ask me and I will explain...
For now that will do I think these are a all linked and came to me when I was thinking about the soul Stealers from B5 and the Eldar's unique position...

Hmm, tough questions.
I would think that the special powers types would be able to tell that the gem or item contains a life form. They may not know the technical name of the item. Soul cage, Spirit stone, etc... But these types are, as you point out, special and can read life readings and in some cases predict the future.

I suspect that while they can detect the existence of sentience in the item, they do not understand the technology of how it got there. And if the 'soul' is sufficiently alien, they may not have a clue as to its power. Trapping a human in an item would be a heck of a lot different than trapping a Vorlon. Our force users would understand the human, but the Vorlon would simply come across as some incredible dark power.

Is this answer ok with you and everyone else?
Should we have a quick discussion about ground rules?

Ok guys and gals. The time has come.

We're not going to compete for first post. We are all going to post a non-contact half-chapter and then we'll "free for all" after that.

My first post is coming after one more proof.
IDMR, David and other MODs, please watch the scene and keep it clean, by deleting crap that doesn't belong and is against continuity. Also to kill nonsence commentary. It doesn't fit here. Start a new thread if you want to comment. In 30 minutes this thread is all about story. No comments. You can comment in a different thread. I will create it if you want. But the story is a story, not a critic zone! Everyone cool? Hah! Trick question. Start a new thread to answer that.

30 minutes folks and I'll have my shot up and ready.

I make a suggestion. Do not post withing 30 minutes of a post - after this inital entry. Meaning we all post our situations and character explanations.
Wait.
Please allow a 30-60 minutes time between posts. If you see a post at 6pm, and you have written a killer response, please wait till 6:30 or later to post it. This way we can try to avoid stepping on each others toes. We don't want someone killing a character and the next post the character does some cool ass deed. So, as the story is concerned, allow 30-60 min to reply. This will be good.

Keep it real and keep it fair, so to speak.

Jack's personal addition!
-----------Hahhahah!--------------
Gl to you all. The Empire will kick your sorry asses and you will feel the power of the dark side. hahahahaha. We will dominate you. Have fun tiny dick others, the Empire is a winner. To live is to serve, to serve is to live! And our Emperor is a kick ass mother fucker! w00t!!!

General Terse Hewlett read the report.

One thousand five rebels killed
Two hundred taken captive
Thirty-three droids captured
Four transport sized ships
Seventeen fighter craft
Hundreds of weapons seized

He smiled. It was a good day for the Empire. Soon the rebels would be destroyed and peace would return to the galaxy.
"Sir."
Terse turned.
"Sir there is a holo for you from Grand Admiral Sdair."
Terse shook his head. Navy. Why he, a decorated general, was placed under the command of a navy man, he stopped himself and dropped the thought.
"It does not matter," he muttered walking toward the command building. "At least they make a good taxi service."
Storm Troopers came to attention and he entered the door.

The holonet activated and General Hewlett locked eyes with the Grand Admiral.
"General."
"Grand Admiral Sdair?" Terse replied.
"I understand that your operation was a success?"
"Yes admiral. I have already sent you the report."
Sdair was quiet. Terse had the impression that he was listening to someone outside the view of the holonet.
"General, prepare your troops for pickup. I will see you on board."
"Yes Grand Admiral," Terse replied.
The holonet closed.
"Captain Syskiln."
"Sir?"
"Prepare the legions. We are leaving."
"Yes sir."

Grand Admiral Sdair looked away as the image faded.
"And you are sure that this information is correct?"
"Sir, all our sensors are fully operational. Something is generating a huge amount of energy at those coordinates."
Sdair nodded. "Alert me as soon as the general and his troops are on board. Captain Alps."
"Sir?"
"Come with me."
"Yes sir."
Alps followed the aging Grand Admiral from the bridge. Alps respected the older man, but like many others. He wondered why he did not retire. A veteran of the clone wars, Sdair was old by Imperial standards.
"Do you know that I once stood beside our Emperor?"
Alps snapped himself from his thoughts. "No sir. I did not know that."
"It was a long time ago. I was on Coruscant. It was when I made the rank of Captain after the battle of Nintrank. I was personally promoted by his excellency."
"I did not know that sir."
Sdair smiled. "When I met his excellence, he looked very frail and old to me. But when he placed his hand on my shoulder and told me that I was a good officer and served well, I suddenly realized that appearances can be very deceiving."
Alps kept his eyes straight ahead as they walked down the gray corridor. A black roller droid skittered out of the way.
"Do you understand me Captain?"
Alps swallowed. "Yes sir. I do."
"Good," Sdair replied. "Go back to the bridge. Ensure that Terse's troops get aboard. I do not wish to be disturbed until they are on ship. Signal Captains Gettro and Montristar to bring their destroyers into defensive posture around the Uriel. Send out a message to the rest of the fleet. They are to stand ready to move at my command."
"Yes sir."
"Oh," Sdair said. "If you can, find Captain Anarik for me. I would like to see my son in law when he is available. I wish to know how my daughter is doing and has their son been born yet."
"Yes sir."
"That is all Captain."
"Sir," Alps said and saluted.

Grand Admiral Sdair entered his personal chambers. Unlike many of his rank, he enjoyed less spartan quarters. Thick red carpet contrasted with the gray walls and his bed was the old fashion kind, a real mattress with four posts around the frame. Clear silk draped over the posts. He had asked that it be a replica of a picture he had seen when he was a child on Aldreaan.
"I am getting old," Sdair said to himself. "I indulge myself with things that are," he paused. "Worthless."
He took off his coat and laid it across his antique chair. "When this is over and I have crushed the separatist at Trextovr I will retire."
He sat down in the chair and raised the wood of his roller desk. The display behind the wood lit up. Without thought, Sdair used the force to bring his hairbrush to his left hand. He began to brush his hair while reading the fleet reports before going to bed.

General Terse crossed his arms and waited. He was bored. He was a man of action and he did not like being in billets. The navy captain at his side was also annoying.
"Your men look good General," Alps said, trying to make conversation.
Terse did not turn. "They are the best."
"I see that you only lost a hundred and killed more than a thousand."
Terse fought the urge to roll his eyes. "Yes, they are well trained and they know what to do."
Alps paused. "General?"
"Yes?"
"Why do you dislike me?"
Alps honest question took the general by surprise. He turned and looked at the sharply dressed man.
Uniform perfect and pressed, he thought as he surveyed the captain. Hat correct and at the perfect angle, Terse almost sneered despite himself. Not a stain on that thing. Medals shined and shoes polished, stupid navy, Terse concluded as he locked eyes with Alps.
He paused as he struggled for an acceptable answer.
He said, "I do not dislike or hate you Captain. I am sure you are a good fleet officer."
"Then why is it that I cannot get anything but short answers from you. What is it then? You watch your men disembark their transports and you smile, but when I ask you a simple question, all I get is a scowl."
Terse turned back to his troop. He knew his men and he knew what they were capable of doing. He decided to ignore the navy man.
The troopers continued to exit the heavily armored attack ship.
Breaking the silence, Alps asked again, "Well?"
Terse clenched his jaw and his left eye flittered. He turned and locked eyes with the captain again. He fought for control, as all he wanted to do was drive his personal combat blade deep into the man's body.
"Captain, there is no reason for us to have this conversation. You could not possibly, ever, understand what we face in our engagements. We fight and we kill and we die. We do not hide behind meters of armor and shielding. We get in and we do the job. Have you ever pulled a piece of armor out of your leg? Watched as a thermal detonator hit your best commander? You will never understand why I do what I do. Nor will you ever understand why I. This conversation that you want to have, is a waste of time."
"Do you really believe me so weak? That I cannot do as you have done?"
"As I said before. You are a fleet Captain. I would not give you a ten second bet versus my Captain Astartis. He would kick your navy ass and drink your blood."
Alps opened his mouth in angry reply. He was cut off.
"Gentlemen," the deep voice said from behind them.
Both men turned, went to attention and saluted.
Sdair read their minds and while his face was neutral, he smiled inwardly.
"I see your troops are in fit shape General."
"Yes Grand Admiral. We have returned victorious." Terse stressed the last word.
Sdair nodded. He liked competition. He felt it brought out the best in the officers under his command. And while he secretly agreed with Terse about Alps chances against Astartis, he also knew that Alps was a good officer and could be counted upon in a conflict. Both men were equal in their own right, in their own settings.
"How long until they are all aboard?"
Alps answered, "Another half hour sir."
Terse nodded in agreement.
"Good. When they are onboard I wish to speak with you both in my conference room. Captain Alps, have Captains Gettro, Montristar, General Haormon and Admiral Portiaish join us as well. I wish to speak with all of you at once and in person."
Terse looked at the Grand Admiral and nodded. Haormon was a fine commander and a man worthy of respect.
"Yes sir," Alps replied.
Sdair nodded. "Today is a fine day gentlemen. Tomorrow will be even better. Carry on."
Both Terse and Alps watched as the old man walked away.
"How is it?" Terse asked.
Alps smiled. "Not as bad as you would think. He may be aged, but he is smart as a singulac and one tough bastard. The man is probably a genius."
"I figured," Terse replied. "About my comments."
Alps interrupted him. "Don't worry General. I do not take offence. If Captain Astartis can teach me some things that would be fine. What do you say to all of us meeting in the gym after? We can work out."
Terse smiled. "Sounds good Captain. Sounds really good. I'd like that." He reached out and clasped hands with the captain.
They released and Alps walked away.
Terse turned back to his troops and his chest swelled.
"For the Emperor," he said softly.
He shook his head. "For the Empire!" he shouted.
Several of the troopers surrounding him took up the shout. The entire hanger bay rang with their voices.

Sdair smiled as he entered the room and the assembled officers came to attention.
"Sit down," he said.
Sdair took the seat at the head of the table and scanned the faces of his men. He was very pleased.
"We have a strange situation. Our probes have discovered a bizarre anomaly and the power readings are incredible. His majesty, the Emperor, has ordered our fleet to investigate."
The others exchanged glances, but otherwise remained silent.
"We will be moving toward this anomaly and we will enter it once it appears stable. Our engineers seem to think that it is a temporal wormhole of some type."
Terse stood. "Sir that is ridiculous. Time travel is impossible. In twenty-five thousand years of research, we have never, ever, been able to go back in time or break the time paradox."
Sdair smiled and nodded. He really did like Terse's blunt attitude.
"Ah, but you forget the event on Phetata Nine General," Captain Gettro said. "We saw evidence of temporal activity there. How else was Oni-shi able to penetrate the destroyers shields and escape?"
"Sensor malfunction," Terse replied. "It is insipid to believe that time travel is possible!"
"Do not talk about things you do not understand General," Haormon said evenly. "We cannot deny physical evidence. If our probe is operating correctly and our sensors are also functional, then we must accept what we see. There is no room for debate."
Terse sat down. He looked at General Haormon and nodded. "You are correct," he said in reverence.
"So what do we have?" Captain Montristar asked.
Sdair answered, "I think we have exactly what we have detected. An anomaly in space that connects us to another galaxy or another universe. And as his excellency has ordered, we will investigate." He paused to let it sink in. "What I want from all of you, is what do we do it we find an enemy on the other side."
They began talking and the conversation wavered between making alliances to outright destroying anything that appeared. A super star destroyer and nine star destroyers, plus whoever else would answer the call, would be enough to lie to waste anything that waited on the other side of the anomaly.
Sdair leaned back from the table and listened to the discussion.
He smiled despite himself. If only my son in law and his fleet would arrive quickly, this would change a great many things. I should promote him to Admiral. That would be fitting, Sdair thought as he listened to the voices of his commanders.
Sdair left the conversation and sought the future with his force vision.
His eye saw ahead and he read what would happen in this galaxy, but his vision failed him when he tried to look into the other galaxies that waited behind the anomaly.
Again he smiled despite himself at the prospect of an unknown future. We will see then, he thought. We will see.

"Amazing, how'd you do it?" inquired Captian Constantine Leonov.

"You see," said the technician, "when the last Vorlon ambassador 'left' Babylon 5, his ship attempted to escape but broke apart. The wreakage was recovered and has sat in one of Babylon 5's docking bays for a few years until an order from President Sheridon after the plague incident. He instructed that it be brought to this secret shipyard to develop Vorlon-type bioarmor for the Warlocks that carried the offworld senators. Currently, we've only converted three Warlocks, including the prototype The Titans, captianed by Commander Ivonova. Oddly, that ship seems to educate the armor on the other ships and it grows quickly and intelligently. Ah, here comes the Mars."

The small inspection pod cleared the floruscent shape of The Titans and revealed the Mars in her berth. The huge shape of the Warlock-class Destroyer loomed over the pod as they flew along the shifting hull.

"Does it cause any structual problems?" asked Captian Leonov.

"That's the beauty of it, captian, the armor is smart enough to not push on points that shouldn't be pushed. There is one problem, however...you'll see when we're onboard."

The technician turned to the controls of the pod and prepared for landing. Meanwhile, Constantine looked outside at the titanic ship. As they rounded the bow of the ship and headed towards the hanger, they faced with a wall of armor, blocking their way

"Look out!" cried Leonov.

"Hmm? Oh, I apologise. This is one of the quirks, it's constantly improving the ship, according to itself. We call it the iris-"

The armor seemed to spiral in the center and then form a hole, like a camera shutter.

"-because it does, well, that. Then there's some kind of a field beyond that which keeps in the atmosphere but permits ships to pass through. We can keep the bay pressurized!"

"Interesting, very interesting. I'd like to see the bridge."

---

"Let me get this straight, it comes through the walls?"

"Well...yes, but it's quite safe."

"How is loose hull plating SAFE??"

"As I've said before, the armor is smart. It secures everything in a meter of armor before attempting anything."

Apprehensively, Leonov touched a long stalk of bioarmor that ended at the right armrest on the captian's chair. It responded by raising a little button-like lump on the very top.

"Ok, what's this button do?" Leonov asked with an amused smile on his face.

"Oh, you'll love it. Remember those three pylons at the bow?"

Leonov punched the button.

"Yes, but what do they-"

Leonov was cut off by a shudder that was so powerful that the grav fields couldn't compensate quickly enough. Outside, a titanic amount of energy was being funneled across the hull, all ending at one of the tips of the pylons. The energy, in the form of little yellow spheres at the tips, released itself and shot towards a single point equidistant from the ends of the pylons. There it collected itself for a few seconds until it had built up enough power after which it shot out a lance of yellow light.

-do?" ended a stunned Leonov.

"I had the same reaction, captian. Another one of the ship's many suprises. We believe the output to be at least ten times greater than the max output of a GOD weapon."

"Amazing, truly amazing. I'd like to get a skeleton crew and take her out for a spin. Are the jump engines installed?"

"Yes, but aparently they aren't needed. The armor enables the ship to jump without an engine."

"Excellent, we leave in a week."

The Future was his tool, his playing field, his mind raced across it's many varied paths before him floated rune's the surfaces constantly changed as he watched. Here was the thread Eldred himself had seen of hope, of the new God all Eldar where creating, here was the thread of what would happen should they fail. The simplest to read that one, thought Milt-Hith for it never changed, if the God of the dead was not born, then the Eldar would die, it was his guide his focus in the ever shifting possible threads, from that he had a fixed point. As he watched the threads he smiled, he was at peace here, he recalled his previous lives as a dream, once he knew he had been a Poet, where his works still read, was his masterpiece still considered worthy of study by new dreamers? Did it matter in either case? Once he'd been a Soldier a Striking Scorpion, and once he'd walked free of bounds none of it mattered.

Surprise crossed his features, as the runes shifted quickly, many new threads where joining the two focus of his viewings, old ones disappeared, this was not unknown, it happened often when Eldar acted to manipulate events, or humans messed where they should not, but these where different. They started from the same point, yet... Silently he called out through the Infinity Circuit to his brethren, all over the mighty vessel they heard it and came to the dome. 'The Future has changed, something new has started and I know not what it means.'

'This cannot be, the Human God is bound yet here it clearly points to a human who rules an Empire, Plunging to his death, betrayed by his closest advisor, this has already occurred yet here it says it only may happen. Horus has been and gone, and the Emperor of Mankind is bound crippled on the Golden Throne.' Quietly the others watched the same runes and nodded, this could not be!
Quietly another shook her head in wonderment, lost for words, her silence spoke volumes, the Eldar where never lost for words. 'This is even more impossible, listen "And from the Conspiracy of the Light and it's president, the human touched by the one who remained, shall come..." It breaks off here into many threads. Yet I get the impression from all of the threads that his Conspiracy is some sort of multi species alliance. The Mon-Keigh would never work with Aliens on scale hinted here, the Inquisitor's of the Xeno's faction would stamp it out.'
Other equally impossible futures came into being, and faded as they sat, more came than faded through and too many pointed to the doom of the Eldar, still sense could not be made, the Farseer’s where lost. It was not that they could not read the threads, but that they made no sense.

Soon the confusion spread the infinity circuit passed on what had been discovered to other Craftworlds through the Eternity circuit they shared, and on all the Craftworlds Farseers sat diving futures that could never be, yet seemed all too possible, from worlds that did not and never could exist. It was impossible.

Then on the seventh day answers came, from the web way emerged something no one expected, a Harlequin slipped into the heart of the seer's councils on each of the many Craftworlds and explained. 'The Heart of the Web has opened up, and the lost portals are opening. Elsewhere the other doors open, and soon the universe will be in Chaos. More than you know is at stake, the doors lead not just to other places that are but to other's places that have not been, that would never have been.' As quickly as they came they left saying no more than this, an announcement it seemed from the laughing God himself.

So Milt-Hith found himself at an exit, once some hint had been given he had been chosen, he would examine what would never have been, for the Eldar and determine the best path for them. The varied paths may not be logical now but he would find their meanings and when he had them, they would be ready.

Captain Cyran smiled, here they came. a total of 20 ships, varying in size from 100 meters, to 500 meters came out of FTL right on top of each other, they were met by over 300 missiles and just over 100 blaze cannon shots. The front ships were torn to their original elements and the ones behind them were severely damaged, leaving 10 ships operating at full capacity, and they were returning fire upon the Visar and the other ships that escorted her. Each shot struck the ships, the escorts taking minor damage already from the occasional 300+ Gigaton shots, but the Visar was shruging the shots off like flies. The escort ships, most of which were missile ships, launched another wave of missiles, tearing more enemy ships asunder with their power. By then, with the constant bombardment from all around them they quickly began to turn, taking more casualties until finally, they were gone.

Captain Cyran chuckled, this had been the third attack in a month and all of them had gone the same way, the rebels were obviously up to something but the losses they were taking were enormous.

Cyran turned to his second in command "Well lieutenant?, what is the status of our fleet?"

Oriem turned to his captain "No damage sustained to out ship, those new shield systems held up to the intense fire, one of the escorts was destroyed, but other then that no real damage was dealt to us. The first wave was devestating sir.

Ensign Helir turned around in her seat "Sir, we are getting a strange anomaly coming from just outside our system. It seems to be a wormhole of some sort. Sir a ship just came out of it, about 600 meters long. The design is nothing I've ever seen before."

Cyran nodded dully, he then ordered the escorts to stay back and gave instructions to make an FTL jump to the said area. A few seconds later they disappeared into FTL, and two seconds after that they were looking straight into the face of the unidentified ship. Scans quickly told them all about it, it was nothing they had ever seen before. The weapons systems, armor, propulsion, everything about it was new to them. It was new to them, but it was weaker and this they knew as immediately as they knew it was an unidentified ship.

Cyran ordered for a channel to be opened to the strange ship. "Unidentified vessel you are in Imperium space, state your business here, and your allegiance."

The response took awhile but it was eventually returned "We are the Dissolution, we were caught by a wormhole and tossed into this area. We serve the Empire." at the end of this message Helir notified Cyran that their weapons were charged and shields had just been raised.

Cyran sighed, another rebel ship, he didn't know how they'd done it or why but it was all too apparent what it was. "Enemy ship Dissolution, lower your shields, cool down your weapons, and prepare to be boarded, if you do not agree to these terms you will be fired upon and destroyed."

The answer was what he had anticipated and as the first green bolt flew at them the shields of the Visar raised, and the shot did effectively nothing. Cyran smiled as he ordered his crew to return fire.

The captain of the Dissolution was no fool, he realized when he was hopelessly outmatched and as the orange bolts fired on him with ferocity, tearing into the shields of his Dreadnaught. He ordered his ship to turn and as the shields finally fell he escaped through the re-opened wormhole.

"Call back to the planet, order the full group of escort ships to get here pronto, we have rebels to hunt down." ordered an angry Cyran, his prey had escaped, but he'd be damned if they would live past the next week. Within a few hours the 29 escort ships, all fully loaded and repaired appeared in tight formation directly infront of the Visar, these escort ships ranged in size but most of them were 500 meters long. Cyran sent one more message back to the planet, giving the situation and ordering that a fleet be re-positioned to defend this area. Then he and his small fleet entered the wormhole, a few seconds later they came out of it and it closed behind them, permenantly for all they could tell. A quick scan revealed that they were definately in uncharted territory, and although it was too soon to judge, it didn't even look like anywhere from their galaxy. Stealth fields were immediately raised, shields and weapons systems came to life, and the fleet stopped dead in their tracks.

Cyran grimaced "Everyone, get to battle stations, we're in for one helluva ride."

He stood at the bridge windows. Out there was the cold, black void of space.
The stars weren't the familiar spots but lines, for the DSS Aleksander was moving faster than light.
Acting Admiral Travis Ryan stared into the void. The last few weeks had been hell. After the UED fleet had left the Korpulu sector, and begun their long voyage home, Admiral duGalle had commited suicide.
And now he was in charge. The constant ambushes of the Zerg were starting to wear the fleet seriously off. So far he had lost 34 battlecruisers,
128 Valkyrie class Frigates, and innumerable fighters and transports.
He had still more than 300 Battlecruisers and almost 1000 Valkyries, but the Zerg continued to attack, and he knew not a single ship would ever make it back to Earth again.
"Sir" his XO Pavel Grodnizchek interrupted his thoughts "sensors are picking up a large Zerg force approaching our position. They will reach attack range in less than 1 hour."
"How many?"Ryan asked.
"approximately thirteen thousand."
Ryan clenched his fist. Now it was over.
"We stay at Warp as long as we can. Send a report to Earth and inform them of our situation. They shall get every single bit of information, it might be useful one day."
"Of course, Sir."

The Zerg fleet closed in rapidly. It consisted of the most sophisticated and advanced breeds of Zerg space warriors, for the fleet was part of the dreaded Tiamat brood, the brood which once protected the Overmind itself, and now served Kerrigan, the Queen of Blades, who had taken the Overmind's place. Daggoth, the broods cerebrate, and able to see throughthe eyes of all of his underlings, ordered two hundred Scourges to leave the fromation and intercept the UED fleet.

"Sir" the nameless sensor operator said "We're reading a number of Scourges dead ahead. They're on collision course, and they'll reach us
in less than 2 minutes.
"Why didn't you pick them up earlier?" Ryan asked.
"I suppose they were hiding in a nearby asteroid field, and Scourges are so small our sensors have trouble picking them up over long distances."
Ryan sighed. "Disengage FTL system." If they had stayed at warp, the Zerg would only have to damage a ship so that it's FTL drive went offline, and they would leave the ship far behind. Subluminal combat had the advantadge every ship could fight until it was destroyed.
"I am prepared to die, Kerrigan." Ryan said to himself "But you won't find me and my fleet easy prey."

It was only a few minutes later when 1500 UED capships, and thousands of fighters and transports, engaged a superior Zerg force of 13000, in a furious battle.
The Scourges formed the first wave of the attack, and though many were shot down, even more reached their final destination.
Ryan watched emotionless as the main viewscreen showed the DSS Challenger explode as countless Scourges slammed into her like livign plasma bombs.
The Mutalisks came next. Evading the fire of the point defense canons, they skimmed the surface of the giant warships, shooting destructive acid spores, which exploded like missiles and tore giant holes into the armored hulls.
The battle raged on for almost half an hour.
The UED fleet was doing well, but outnumbered ten to one they stood no chance.
Ryan stood on the bridge motionless and watched the battle going on.
He had stopped issuing orders several minutes ago, he saw no use anymore in doing so, he and everyone else knew they had lost.
23 battlecruisers remained, and 84 Valkyries, the transports, which had been carrying equipment, spare parts and men, had all been destroyed. He watched as 20 Devourers turned towards the DSS Aleksander and approached her frontal, their armoured carpaces shrugging off the fire from the Aleksander's main weapons with apparent ease.
They fired salvoes of corrosive acid spores, and the DSS Aleksander was rocked by several explosions. Ryan knew his ship wasn't going to last long anymore.
He closed his eyes and prepared to die. An excited voice interrupted him.
"Sir, I'm picking up an anomaly building up three million kilometers from our position! It's a wormhole, Sir, and a stable one as it appears!"
Ryan immediately put his thoughts of death and destruction aside, and the hope came back.
"Helm, get us in there NOW! And order the fleet to follow immediately!
This is our last chance of escape! Maximum sublight acceletartion!"
The remainder of the once proud UED fleet acceleterated towards the swirling vortex of the wormhole.
"Sir" Grodnizchek asked "what makes you think the Zerg won't follow us?"
"They will follow us. I don't doubt that. However, there is a chance that whoever or whatever we may find on the other side will be able, and willing, to help us."
The UED vessels entered the wormhole and disappeared.
At first the Zerg didn't follow. They waited for orders from their cerebrate.
Suddenly, they knew Daggoth's, and Kerrigan's will:
Follow. Hunt. Eradicate.

If the person who was writing about a troop leader doesn't show up, then my ship will be with a skeleton crew. If he does come back, he'll have to be something like chief of security or something because there are no troops.

Alright, I know I don't give much info on the escort ships or the universe from which my character comes from so if you are curious about something, or confused, please PM me so I can at least attempt to explain. Just something to say so no one kills my character on a discrepancy.
